shoughton
I'm thinking of getting a bipod to go on my CZ .22 - probably a high model, 13" to 25" or so. The Deben units look cheaper than the Harris models - but are they as good? Any comments/views welcome. Thanks.

Dekers
It's tricky this one, Deben are a bit cheaper but I rate the Harris. They have been around a couple of years now so it would be interesting to hear of any long term reports from Deben Bipod owners!
bullet boy
Harris pods are by far the best.Only Harris i`ve ever bought.
ollie
I have a Deben on my .22lr CZ. Only had it for about a month but it is working fine. I don't have any experience of Harris so don't really have any basis for comparison.
welshwarrior
I tried Rock mount and another in the end bought a Harris and it's not let me down yet 5 years. Just wish I hac bought it first I could have bought at least 2 with the total amount I've paid out now.

RichPWRR
Go for the harris swivel. If you get the swivel make sure you get the adapter lever for locking it off. The little nut t comes with is a pain to tighten with cold/wet/gloved hands.
shoughton
Thanks everybody for the replies. The HARRIS it is then. Probably the 25c model, with swivel. The wife will be so pleased as with a birthday rapidly approaching she will have been worrying what to buy me Steve
RichPWRR
If you want to get the locking lever to replace the nut, give country persuits in Rickmansworth a call. He makes them.

Evil Elvis
I have three bipods from evil bay, they are 9-14" and advertised as chinese army. They are however from Australia and it works out £30 posted, absolutely brill, very light and have not let me down, the oldesty one is 3 years old and going strong. Rem223
The Deben units look cheaper than the Harris models - but are they as good? The cheap ones I have seen are made from finest "Chineseium" and are c**p. Get a genuine Harris and you wont be disappointed.
Lez325
Harris no question about it Les
Beardo
I've got a couple of Harris and whilst they are the mutts nuts they are stupidly expensive. avoid the chinese ones, they bend to easily. but do check out the new Edgar Brothers bipods - they are really good. steve_b_wales
Most of my rifles have the Harris Bi-Pods fitted to them, except my .308. This has the Deben one on it. It looks okay, is sturdy, and so far, is working well. Only time will tell. I do agree though, that the Harris make is the best.

adymorris
It's tricky this one, Deben are a bit cheaper but I rate the Harris. They have been around a couple of years now so it would be interesting to hear of any long term reports from Deben Bipod owners! Mate of mine got a Deben one and it needed constant tightening of some of the nuts and virtually fell to pieces at one point - I have a Rockmount and it seems fine - I guess the true test will be in a few years time and if it's still in one piece Having seen the Deben ones and also buying a cheap chinese e.g.a.y. special for my air rifle - personally I will never knowingly buy one from Deben as they look virtually the same units - just like the LED LEDRay lookalike torch I got from china at £8 as opposed to £50 from Deben
swiss.tony
HARRIS 100 per cent and get the tilt 1 dont be tight lol
peek-at
I bought a Deben 13-27" bipod in September '13 as I was seduced by the cheaper price tag, and to be fair it worked well. Until the retaining nut on the leg fell off and the thing fell apart that is.... Took it back the the shop who took it back and I paid the extra for a 12-25" Harris swivel bipod I must admit that you can immediately tell that the build quality is superior. I'm always looking for a bargain but sometimes you really do 'get what you pay for'
Foxwit
I've had a deben 9-13 that has been used 2-3 times a week for over a year and it works great never fallen appart or let me down. If I were to make any comments it would be that the foam/ rubber stock protectors needed re sticking and the tilt nut needs tightening periodically. other than that its great.
