dunganick
Basically got into one of those conversations where a Vegan tries to impose their beliefs on you. Being an avid meat eater i quite enjoy disagreeing. As a forum of (i presume) largely meat eaters, what are our thoughts on it as a diet/belief. death from below
I believe Hitler and his regime had a policy on vegetarians(or vaganism - wasn't that what Spock was?) - along with motorway building, they're the only two I agree with. Cranfield
Its a matter of personal choice. I don't play squash, but I don't care if other people do. If someone tried to convince me I should play squash, I would politely ignore them.
shot shot
choices and imposing beliefs on others aside, when was the last time that you saw a healthy looking vegan? we're supposed to eat meat, so we do. end of

4eyes
Its quite simple really - No meat, no point! Our bodies need it, and I like it, so there!!! Salad is what food eats - which could explain my waistline. Bring on the mixed grill
J@mes
I respect Vegans for their choice, as long as they don't try and force it on others. Vegetarians who eat fish/white meat/ sweets with gelatine in them or wear/ use leather products can get ******. Imperfection
My experience is that you'll never convince a veggie that eating meat is good and they will never convince a meat eater its bad.Wouldnt life be dull if we were all the same! whiskymac
No offence to vegies but life would be pretty bland without a medium rare sirloin or slow cooked lamb shoulder now and again (well more than now and again actually). Usually with a glass or two of italian ribena. Edited September 22, 2010 by whiskymac

Eh? Both Hitler and Himmler were vegeterian. Himmler had a plan to eventually make vegetarianism compulsory for the SS. EDIT: As far as modern day veggies, meh, whatever. As long as they dont bother me I wont bother them.
reddan
Each to their own. You don't ever see a healthy looking vegan though. Only advantage I can see is you never get food poisoning after BBQs but then you do have to eat veggie burgers. Dan
Mungler
Each to their own. However it's hard to ignore that as time passes each generation seems to lose touch with the food chain and nature generally. Most inside the M25 have a complete disconnect with meat coming from living creatures that skip across grassy meadows etc. and it magically appearing in plastic containers and ready meals in supermarkets. Being a veggie is an easy concept to sell to the ignorant who don't understand animal husbandry, who feed pigeons and think that all foxes are like the Fantastic Mr. Fox. If you look at the human body and in particular our teeth you will know that it is in our genetic code to eat meat.
Billy.
From what I remember reading somewhere, it's been proven that the human race would not have developed so intelligently if it'd not eaten meat. It's shown to increase brain growth over generations. Edited September 22, 2010 by Billy.
Blackpowder
I normally point at there shoes an say an animal had to die to provide those. I would assume vegans would wear shoes made from synthetic materials. Personally I dont mind the creatures as long as they dont mind the fact that I eat meat. Willxx
I find them tedious in the extreme, can't we ship them off to a wilderness somewhere and let them preach their happy clappy **** to some wild carnivores and see what they make of vegans? (I would guess - lunch!)
