How reliable is your gun

How about getting some facts on the reliability of shotgun makes and models, just list gun make and type and any repairs required since 2005 and possibly cost of repair if you feel like it

I own a Bettinsoli Diamond sporter 30" m/c owned 18 months no problems

25+ year old Beretta. Never missed a beat, still won't lock closed with a ten pound note on the face. Theres a reason they sell so many.

Sable boxlock even older, shot 500+ clay loads and a fair few heavies and only a few minor problems, screws coming loose etc.

CZ 452, havn't had that long enough to complain but one hole grouping at 50 yards is more than enough for me!

27 year old beretta 687.

2 ejectors. snapped through ware and tare.

1 enertia block spring. snapped

1 pair oversuze lugs, originals wore out.

new barells. originals expanded a bit (1mm o/d) at choke due to amount of shooting, shortened and use for skeet now.

1 ejector spring.

thats it. conservative estimate of 250/300,000 carts through.

not bad i would say. :good::good:

Beretta AL391 Urika Teknys Stonecoat Sporter (Semi Auto):

10 months old, 11k ish cartridges through it, thoroughly reliable, 2 failures to chamber the second cartridge (Both 24g loads following the replacement of the recoil spring so need to bed in with 32's which i didn't)

Cycles anything down to 21g provided the case length is 70mm.

Beretta 682 Gold E. Must have had it 3 or 4 years now. Never been serviced, never gone wrong.

Barrel selector switch migrates over on it's own. It's always done that and I can't be bothered to get it tightened up.

I'd just as soon have it welded in position. I never switch barrels, pointless exercise with the same choke in each barrel.

If anything had gone wrong in 3 or 4 years, I'd have sacked it. Can't understand people putting up with guns that **** up in 5 minutes. <_<

  • 2 weeks later...

Old Miroku not had it long enough to comment but looks new after 25 years.

Escort no issues to report but who cares it's disposable.

My old side by side ( un-named) and long gone was around 50 years old when I had it and only had the barrels replaced once. The action however was replaced twice along with the woodwork but all in all shot like a new one. The trigger guard was a bit loose and the but pad used to fall off now and then but it would have been strait in the bin if it had given me any problems. ;)
