henry d
Tonight I had the last of the duck breasts in the freezer and it occured to me that I have a good chest freezer 3/4 full of goodies from field, forest and hedgerow. However I had to search quite a bit to find some duck for tonights tea. So it occured to me,How often do you eat game out of season? I mean game that has a close season so it wil not include Woodpigeon and Rabbit. I bought 20 brace of pheasant from a `keeper @ 50p a brace, the going rate at the time so we have a good, but dwindling, selection. Over to you! Piebob
Been eating a lot recently but that'll probably be it for a while now. The spare fridge/freezer took a turn and defrosted the top few shelves. Been eating cod/prawn lasagne, pheasant n beef casserole, venison burgers, pigeon somethingorother with rice. Best bit was that i didn't have to cook any of it Had a recce earlier on and the pigeons were on some drillings on my permissions so I'll give them a try tomorrow. And HD you're right on the greys being in my neck of the woods, saw a grey squirrel run across the road in front of me. I braked!

Cranfield
I still have three pheasants and some pigeons breasts in the freezer. During the Season, I prefer to eat game as I shoot it . The pheasants in the freezer were part of a 10 bird "tidying up" day I had at the end of the season.

I moreless live on game, cant beat it. About a year ago over here, their was some sightings of wild boar , love to get my chops around some of that. Whitebridges
I'm rather partial to hare and have got 4 saddles in the freezer. A bloke in the next village from us bought a plucking machine and he was knocking out pheasies at £1.50 a brace plucked and dressed so i've got a about a dozen left. I sell most of my pigeons to restaurants, they are quiet at the moment but demand increases from now on. I eat a few and prefer them roasted whole. I love quackers and I think there are 7 in the freezer. They seem to eat a lot better when fresh though. We have a few specialist game dealers/butchers in Norfolk and they seem to be doing pretty well. I know one that drives a pretty sexy looking porsche car, so Tesco haven't got it all----- yet. :( :o
Kenzie
Not shot a hare for a couple of years,i don't really care for it and don,t know anybody that does ,so i don't bother. That and the fact that they weigh a ton, if you have a long walk back to the car you soon wish you hadn't bothered :(
