wingnut Posted November 2, 2011 Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2011 I have just returned from the consultants with both good and bad news ref the lump on my chest / neck area. The bad news is that it is skin cancer The good news is that it is NOT MALIGNANT They have diagnosed it as Basal Cell Carcinoma and they can cut it away with out causing to much damage to the surrounding tissue,and as long as it has not reached bone, all it will leave is a scar, and they may have to perform a skin graft over it as it is in a visible area, and there is also a possibility of it returning in the same spot in a few years time. My op is now booked in for Jan 6th 2012. I would just like to thank each and every one of you that left me a message or Pm'd with good wishes, prayers and the like. And for each and every one out there that has had Cancer, is going through cancer treatment,in remission or looking after some one who is suffering, God bless you all, best of luck, keep your spirits up, have a positive mental attitude. My mil is battling the big C and it just makes you realise how wide spread cancer is and how each of us know several people affected? I've lost 2 other family members to it.
