WGD Posted February 8, 2012 Report Share Posted February 8, 2012 I understand John Humphreys, many years a columnist in Shooting Times, passed away yesterday after losing his battle with cancer. I always liked his column in ST, and he loved his shooting. I saw him at the CLA last year in good health, nearly had a chat but he was commandeered by someone more determined to speak to him than me. Very sad. Not only a great way with type but also a great coversationalist, and knowledgable about the countryside and its ways. Perhaps a most fitting Obituary would be the words of John Swift, Cheif executive of the BASC at his recent Lifetime Achievement award Over many years you have inspired, entertained and challenged us all not least to think hard about the things we all share and love so much, our sport and the wild places.
