Mungler
Right then, there's a nut nut gone missing off here then - which one of the Suffolk boys is on the missing list? Where was that Masterblaster2 fella from?
hillmouse
While breaking your conditions is illegal and stupid the article suggested something more like a military armoury. Looks like he got carried away with a semi rifle and a pistol or two too many. Everything else looks like pretty normal sporting firearms. The hand greande doesn't seem to be mentioned again. Good to see level headed factual and balanced reporting, or not.

I'm with mungler the bloke was a definite walt glad they found him before he collected many more. Must have been interesting when he tried to clear up before the FEO came round at renewal time trying to stash everything not on ticket out of sight. Sprackles
I think theres a lot been exaggerated shall we say. For such an arsenal and only 6 charges I will wager that some of those "illegal" weapons were deacts that someone decided were capable of being reactivated.....old style deact perhaps. Reminds me of a case many years ago in this area where during the trial, the accused was referred to by the Police as a very dangerous individual who must be stopped and incarcerated at all costs. Once convicted, he became a sorry and easily led loser according to the post trial speech by the officer in charge of the case. They have to justify vast amounts of cash spent and if an enquiry turns out to be not quite as dangerous as first declared, a little bit of face saving comes into play. bobt
Ammunition seized by the police is pictured next to his pencils. Some of the weapons were being kept their illegally are they now on ticket?
al4x
on ticket? they will be destined for destruction the illegal stuff couldn't be held on a FAC
Vipa
one thing i don't understand with cases such as these... i was under the impression firearms offences carried a 5 year mandatory sentence?

Bloke
one thing i don't understand with cases such as these... i was under the impression firearms offences carried a 5 year mandatory sentence? I know they say that, but about ten years ago, a bloke I used to work with was caught as ++**&&d as a rat, waving a sawn off around and he shot at a couple of scrotes who had threatened to give him a kicking a few minutes earlier. He had no licence at all, so no defence (even if you could defend a sawn-off ), Maybe the fact that he was ex-para Falklands helped, I'm not sure, but all he got was two years, reduced to 18 months. Guest cookoff013
wonder if he was a member of basc?
mudpatten
Interesting to note that it was the police themselves who released the photographs and details of the offender. Nothing like ramping up the fear factor of guns in general to add weight to the clamour of calls for them all to be made illegal. Good to see also that the police did`nt over react at the time. Why on earth did they find it necessary to evacuate all the other houses in the street?
al4x
something to do with finding a hand grenade on the premesis? and whats being a BASC member got to do with anything they sure as hell won't try and get him out of this predicament. Maybe point and laugh a bit if they get a call but come on
arjimlad
I bet he didn't get broken into often. Makes you wonder what he did with all those guns when the FEO came to inspect. And why not 5 yrs ? My young son starting bleating to the FEO about my "other gun cabinet" when he last inspected my "hoard" of firearms. I half expected him to ask to see this other cabinet but he didn't take the hint - and it's only got a couple of old airguns in anyway !
