ace_of_hearts
Have not seen this posted anywhere but sorry if it is a repost. I don't really know much on the subject but i thought hunting with hounds is now banned? I take it the police just class it as low priority? Dougy
I find it unbelevable, the hunt knew they were being fillmed yet still let the hounds carry on. They have left themselves open to whatever punishment they get coming there way. Foolish to say the least.

pegasus bridge
I must say, it surprised me how the hounds acted, I would have expected all of those around to be on it. Are they usually this laid back?

alfa taf
I have been shooing for the best part of my life which is quite a long time , but I could never agree with such a form of cruelty , because that,s what it is.
Paul T
It's a Country Sport Gents - and we all need to stick together. It might not be your thing, but remember you are being shown bits of film which deliberately tries to get you on side with the anti-hunting brigade. Same could be done for any other country pursuit. Some people think hare coursing is too I'll not be backing that one either. The fact is them guys was willing taking part in something that has been banned and if it wasn't for that brave but foolish woman would have happily watched the hounds pull it to bits. How has that film shown anything different to what actually happened? for me hunting with hounds is no less barbaric than dog fighting, cock fighting and badger baiting it's still causing unnessicary suffering to an animal for te enjoyment of man and I thought us shooter were better than that and believed in respecting our quarry and dispatching it as quickly and humanely as possible. Kes
Maybe negative opinions are best kept to ourselves and we just keep shooting foxes - remember where we all come from.
The Essex Hunter
I shoot quite a lot of foxes and watched the hunt doing the same thing last week whilst out pigeon shooting. 30 hounds and a lot of people dressed in red charging around are bound to attract some attention. I was chucking to my self as I had shot two from the spinney they were working only the previous night! I doesn’t take much to loose a sgc or fac but these people will only add weight too the mounting pressure on country pursuits and for that they should have their backside’s kicked several times…. bicykillgaz
Maybe negative opinions are best kept to ourselves and we just keep shooting foxes - remember where we all come from. I totally agree about sticking to shooting them but comments positive or negative about a topic are why we come on here. At the end of the day it's banned and by supporting it we only bring our selfs and our legal sports into the limelight. Atleast by publicly separating our sport from an illegal one we get some form moral high ground with the anti's as shooting is a more humane way of vermin control. Frenchieboy
I think we all need to think very carefully about our replies on this post before we post them! Don't forget thet we as shooters are responsible for killing a great mant foxes than the hunt are. I was led to believe (I am certain that I will very quickly be corrected if I am wrong) that fox hunts were allowed to hunt a drag trail and in doing so there is always a possibility of a fox being flushed "by accident" and if this happens then the hunt are acting legally as long as they have not gone out with the pure intention of flushing and pursuing a fox. This short video clip gives no indication as to whether this pack of hounds were drag hunting (Which they are quite entitled to do) or if they were in fact out with the sole intention of hunting a fox. I do have to say that the woman either has a lot of balls or is totally stupid going in and grabbing the fox in the way she did and I am extremely surprised that the resy of the pack were not on it a lot quicker and the fox being obviousy terrified for it's life could quite easily have made quite a mess of her! I'm not sure that I would like to comment any further without knowing all of the story rather than the little bit of this clip that a few of the anti hunting brigade and furry friend huggers want us to see. Let's all remember that when a video is shortened to just a little like that it can very easily be taken totally out of context, something that the "antis" are quite happy to do in order to show us "cruel and murderous blood sporters" in as bad a light as possible! Reece
I'm not really bothered about fox hunting, but aren't there some exemptions which allow hunting to take place? Also, look at the anti hunt comments. Quite a few are talking about killing hunt members, and abusing pro fieldsports commenters (which are not necessarily pro hunting) who understand that foxes need controlling (mostly talking about shooting them). The antis claim to be warm, loving people. The comments suggest otherwise. Edited November 24, 2012 by Reece

four-wheel-drive
And so much for the 'its over in an instant' crowd!! I must say I was shocked by the reaction of the dogs I have always thought it would be much like a JR caching rats a couple of bites and a shack and its all other those dogs did not seem to be that interested. Hunting is a sport for well off people from what I have heard the best way of killing foxes is with two dogs one to flush it out and one to kill it other than that shoot them I think most foxes that get killed by hunts are killed by being run over after being chased on to roads. rimfire4969
To me it did not look like the dogs were really hunting but maybe came across the fox accidentally, it seemed as much a shock to the dogs as it did the nutty woman.
