Did think about going to this, but might go to the midlands game fair instead. I have never been to eithere so which is best. Midlands or the CLA

Neil I went to the midland fair last year there were loads of RFD there it was packed I took my gun to do the shoot but got there abit late and it was packed , i got myself a gun as well but felt quite not as ease as there were LOADS OF TRAVELLERS there as well , I'm sure closer to the time there will be a group of us PW shooters meeting there for the shoot :good:

The CLA is the only one we do these days. We used to get around a good few country fairs but the CLA is by far the biggest and the best. I would rather pay the entrance fee to go there than to go to two or three others that are nowhere near as good. We camp on the CLA campsite purely for convenience, yes it is expensive for camping, but we can walk around all day having a drink or several without worrying about driving back to a cheaper campsite.

Not me this year. You can get to see the same old routines in the show rings by the same people, spend half a day in traffic queuing to get in and then hiking to the venue from your parking space three miles away. The show discounts are laughable and the whole thing just costs a fortune for what is effectively a days shopping.

Or am I just getting old and grumpy?

I am with you FCS, you can buy most of that toot online anyway.

Having said that the last time I went to the CLA, I must have met half a dozen or so friends who I hadn't seen for ages and had a good catch up over a few beers - which for me is more what game fairs should be about than just endless rows of shops. But each to their own.

What do people do for 2/3 days at a game fair?

Help out old Paul :good: eat too much, shoot at clays, drink beer, run dog in scurry, meet friends old & new & socialize - 2 days is not long in passing B)

  • 2 weeks later...

If you would sell two of them I would be interested

I'm not sure they will split. The online sales form made it sound like they might be in the form of a 3-day pass. Not known it before, though. Have to wait for them to arrive. Cash and collect prefered.

I've tickets ordered for all 3 days but have broken my ankle and will be on crutches for up to 11 more weeks, with no driving either. If anyone wants the tickets they are half price, £32.

How many have you ordered would be interested I two tickets but would need them posted?

I ordered one for each day. I think I have found a buyer for the lot on the Stalking Directory form. They've got time to send me a cheque and I won't pay it in until I am sure I can post the tickets in time for them to get them.
