Why are they getting bigger?

I can only guess these foxes are increasing in size due to their access to food from towns and being fed..

This fox was a huge beast and to be honest if that size of animal decided to take a fancy to a small child its sheer weight and size could easy do a lot of damage.

Granted they are wary of humans but as I work my way through fox population they are defiantly getting better.

I had a long walk to get in a good shooting position and what I wanted to do was drag the fox back across the field to entice his mate out of the cover but it was a very long way so she will have to wait her fate for next month…

I've had 2 foxes over the last year that were so big I had to weigh them. A vixen was 22lb and a dog 25lb, which is getting on for twice the size they are "supposed to be." An abundance of food would make them fatter not bigger, so it has to be an evolution thing. Obviously as their generations are much shorter than humans, it is more noticeable.

Nice one :good:. I was out stalking one morning 2 weeks ago and spotted one out at about 250 yards (RF) so as I was about to head of and had not seen a shootable Deer I set up the BT on the site and let him have it with the 300 win mag. He dropped where he was hit. I went over and could not believe how big he was. I think that they are obviously getting some good feeding around my area.
