Cheek battering. HELP

I had this a few months ago with a new Franchi 20 gauge even though I was only using 21 gram cartridges.

I was lucky enough that the lady manager and coach at Kibworth shooting ground took a few minutes to see what I was doing wrong despite not buying the gun from there (I am a regular though).

It turned out I wasn't putting the stock of the gun properly into the pocket between my shoulder and chest and instead was mounting further out onto the shoulder muscle. This meant I was tilting my head over the gun to align the barrel and so was getting a belt in the jaw every time I fired. Made a point of mounting the gun correctly into the pocket of my shoulder and the problem disappeared as if by magic.

It was a mounting problem rather than the gun not fitting.

Stock sounds a shade to long then... for you.

Measure the drop at comb compared to other guns you have, there a few on your signature if you still gave these measure everything against one gat doesn't knock you about, lop , drop at comb, drop at heel and cast, I noted in the replies someone said comb too low, I find the opposite and prefer a much lower comb, most std guns kick me in the cheek but my winchester that is really low is perfect

Wear all different though, gut a good gunsmith to take a look at it, as said the pitch / cast may be the problem

Have the same problem with my 425 ,just been and had a fitting the comb was too low having a recoil reducer fitted and a comb raiser to . This gun ive shot loads through and all of a sudden it started beating me up in a big way. . took it to malcomn Jenkins of luton .Hope it cures the problem as its not cheap to be done but by reputation hes one of the best stock man around.

Either ,

1 Gun fit

2 Gun mount

3 Gun control.

Got tobe one of the three or a combination of two . Without seeing you with our gun any other suggestions would be pointless as would any suggestions as to how to over come the problem . You need to see a good gun fitter , that's not necessarily the same as an instructor or coach .
