tweedledee
Consistent mounting? If this happens me it's cause I don't mount consistently.does the gun fit you ok?
fruity
I would say incorrect fit or you are mounting the gun incorrectly You say you recently purchased it , did they fit the gun for you where you purchased it ?
magman
Head off stock
Underdog
The gun may not fit you....do you shoot it ok....hit with it I mean? U.
browning123
Could be stock to short, to much drop or as already said head off stock.
remmyman
Any of the above plus head 'burying', also incorrect 'pitch' can often make matters worse. Regards remmyman
sitsinhedges
I had this a few months ago with a new Franchi 20 gauge even though I was only using 21 gram cartridges. I was lucky enough that the lady manager and coach at Kibworth shooting ground took a few minutes to see what I was doing wrong despite not buying the gun from there (I am a regular though). It turned out I wasn't putting the stock of the gun properly into the pocket between my shoulder and chest and instead was mounting further out onto the shoulder muscle. This meant I was tilting my head over the gun to align the barrel and so was getting a belt in the jaw every time I fired. Made a point of mounting the gun correctly into the pocket of my shoulder and the problem disappeared as if by magic. It was a mounting problem rather than the gun not fitting. poontang
Shoot the gun pre mounted at a few targets and see how it feels.

Hamster
Recently purchased a new Beretta 692 sporter which is hammering my cheek bone. Can anyone advise/suggest what is wrong with gun fit. This is almost always due to too low a comb and incorrect pitch for your fit.
double10
Head off stock I found I only got battered when too eager to see the clay break lol

sishyplops
Measure the drop at comb compared to other guns you have, there a few on your signature if you still gave these measure everything against one gat doesn't knock you about, lop , drop at comb, drop at heel and cast, I noted in the replies someone said comb too low, I find the opposite and prefer a much lower comb, most std guns kick me in the cheek but my winchester that is really low is perfect Wear all different though, gut a good gunsmith to take a look at it, as said the pitch / cast may be the problem
Dekers
I had this many years ago, with an early Beretta as well, does it hurt to, and my face looked like I had been in a scrap. Problem was solved when the gun went, the fit made mounting it properly all but impossible, gave up and got another!
Hardwoods Green
Every 692 I have picked up has been miles to low. Get an adjustable comb put on it, had them fitted to most of my guns. That will sort it
welshwarrior
692 sporters I've looked at have had low combs get the fit checked

kent
It says nothing without looking at what your doing, its as likely a user error as bad fit

cjm
Gun appears to fit although has never been checked by an expert. Replies would suggest comb height or pitch to be the problem. Thanks guys for your advise.
Gunman
Either , 1 Gun fit 2 Gun mount 3 Gun control. Got tobe one of the three or a combination of two . Without seeing you with our gun any other suggestions would be pointless as would any suggestions as to how to over come the problem . You need to see a good gun fitter , that's not necessarily the same as an instructor or coach .
kent
If you put your neck through the arm of your shirt and find it tight do you buy a bigger shirt? seriously get your mount looked at first
