Vipa
Well... I suppose any of the Rush gigs I have been to but I have been a Rush fan boi most my life. And Seal. Other notables were Justin Timberlake & Nickleback. BUT....... Whether you like the music or not Take That put on pretty much the best show on earth... Go to one of their concerts and I guarantee you will come away with your chin trailing on the floor! I have been to 3 now, first one was as driver and under duress... I have never had a jaw dropping experience at a music concert... I had one that night and they only got better from there!
Aled
Best one for me was Welsh language punk band "yr Anrhefn" (Welsh for disorder or anarchy) at Treorchy Leisure Centre in 1990, it was very much "you had to be there" half the crowd ended up on stage, a large number of whom were squaddies enjoying a bit of R&R so it was a pretty mad night! Followed by Green Day at Cardiff in 2003. Iggy Pop was also impressive, Saw the Pogues in November 1990 and they were awful however saw them again 2005, and they were brilliant! Cheers Aled

Balian
Oasis - Maine Road - 1996 The Verve - Slane Castle - 1998 Stereophonics - Odyssey Arena - 2013 Coldplay - Odyssey Arena - 2008 Snow Patrol - Ward Park - 2007 Worst concert was Elton John in Belfast, only stayed as thought he would play 'Candle in the Wind' as last song as she wanted to hear it. He didn't even play it.... very poor show.
marsh man
The best one I went to was Johnny Cash and the Carter family at London in the 70s, and for a young Norfolk boy even going to London was as good as the concert
MrPhantom
Rush in 1981 on Moving Pictures tour. My first ever gig at 14 years old! Glastonbury in the early 90's. Particularly memorable, not for the music, but for the fact that I watched literally hundreds of people get free access by scaling the fence right next to where I was camped. I had bought a ticket . I also had all my money stolen on the first day. Didn't feel the peace and love that weekend. Others worth a mention: Faith No More touring 'The Real Thing' in 1990. Rolling Stones in Paris (Steel Wheels tour) Jeff Buckley - Glastonbury The Firm (mid '80's) - my hero worship of Jimmy Page ended that day. Appalling. Janes Addiction ('Ritual...' tour) Fugazi - great gig, Ian MacKaye's audience banter and 2 drummers!

sonicdmb
The Saw Doctors at Grassington festival. packed small marque great night Madness at Haydock race course, had a blow out on the coach on the way there some little Hitler from Highways nearly ruined the night. But we ended up just missing the first race, picked winners and/or place in every race. Then madness came on proper small venue atmosphere. Some other local band gigs most memorable of them was 20 years ago called Neverland from Lancaster small gig packed to the rafters and bouncing. Guest rimotu66
So many to choose from, if I had to choose a fav then it would be Rory Gallagher at Rock City Nottingham but hard to pick from: Frank Zappa N.E.C (hate that venue and other big venues), Bob Dylan N.E.C, Eric Clapton with Ray Cooper (genius but mad) Albert Hall, Jethro Tull Guildford civic, The Highway men Sheffield I could go on including all the punk bands from my youth. ack-ack
Longpigs at the penny theatre. I'd become a fan after a freebee cassette in the nme had one of their tracks on it. The track was banned by the bbc as it was titled jesus christ. They proper turned it on. The guitarist was richard hawley who now rocks solo
lord_seagrave
Paul The Girl at the Morden Arms in Greenwich c.2001. It was like nothing we expected - some scruffy waif on a mandolin, but impossible to ignore. I would everyone to get a copy of her album. It's like Kate Bush meets Maria Carey meets Skunk Anansie meets an East German Cranberries tribute band. Oh, and AC/DC were astonishingly loud at Wembley a few years back - lord knows what they were like back in the day. LS

mr_magicfingers
First concert was pretty memorable, Undertones in Belfast, I was 13. I worked building stages and crewing for a lot of big acts to pay my way through university and was fortunate to see things like the Stones from side of stage and the sound desk at Wembley, AC/DC rehearsals in Cardington airship hangar, there were about 30 of us crew there for that, un-*******-believable, those boys just don't know how to not give it 100%, Guns n Roses at Wembley for the appetite tour, spent a few days with Dire Straits who were cool, Roxette were surprisingly good, she never stopped smiling or bouncing round the stage like a lunatic Seal, rehearsals for his first tour, final day MTV came to film, we'd been at Brixton Academy for a week and he brought all his family and friends in to be the crowd, local boy made good, you could see how emotional it was for him and the atmosphere was like a carnival. In 1987 I missed seeing Genesis with my best friends due to being in plaster at the time. 25 years, almost to the day, later, I sat in the crowd with one of them beside me and we finally got to enjoy it together. So many memories from the past came to life. The levellers in the rain at Glastonbury, suddenly realising that they'd got old. Then realising it'd been 20 years since I'd last seen them, ******, I'd got old too then Didn't stop us stomping around to One Way though. Bloody hell but a good concert is a truly life affirming experience, isn't it. Edited March 3, 2014 by mr_magicfingers
