Jay-Zee
Right then, I'm looking for a Semi Auto shotgun. I've got a few in mind and just wondering if anyone would like to try broaden my mind. At the moment I'm thinking AL391 teknys/urika, A300 outlander, the new A5. I'm really swaying towards the Teknys tho. What's people's opinions? Cheers

silverhawk
The the tekneys suffered from pealing paint from the action so be carefully with a second hand one. The al391 urika and urika 2 are great guns think I've had every model over the years haha. The urika 2 basic model has fake grain wood though. If your looking for a durable gun go for the urika 2 synthetic If you want something that looks pretty go for the urika 2 gold wish I never sold mine :(
fenboy
Of those you mention , I would go for the 391 urika
shootgun
I only have the 300 shootgun I see you have all singing & dancing 400 I sold the 300 after i upgraded to 400. Doesn't mean that the outlander is not a good gun... i just fancied something else B)

Jay-Zee
depends what is wanted from the auto clays/pigeon/wildfowling and to what proportions I'm wanting a good all rounder.
shootgun
So the Outlander is your winning bet... 3'' chambered, steel profed, cycles everything from 24 to 50 grams, great pigeon and rough gun...
countryman
My first semi was a Teknys, and the action peeled badly on it, GMK did not want to know about mine or though i think they did take some back, i now use a Benelli M2 , its my main hide gun but will happily crush clays as well, i have not been tempted to px it for any thing else, which is unusual for me. p@cman
I have recently bought a second-hand Teknys Stonecoat 12g and am very pleased with it. Has cycled everything put through it (21g & 24g cartridges) Easy to strip down, clean and reassemble. No misfires or problems.
lambchop
My sx3 28" does everything from practical shotgun to roosting and everything in between, fires light loadd fine and easy to clean. Love it.
fendrover90
I had a Urika 2 for four years put upwards of 15000 shells through it never missed a beat traded up for a brand new 2 year old xtrema for the fowling
Afastr
I too am looking at buying a Semi auto for a bit of everything. The guns your looking at have given me a bit more grasp of whats on the market. Run into a few older posts on this forum that seem to rate the Armsan guns quite highly for a slightly cheaper new option. Had you considered anything like this? bullet boy
Thought about the Winchester SX3? Brilliant gun IMO is the SX3!
Bloggs
I'd recommend the Browning Maxus, great gun and sensibly priced :-)
Richie10
Maxus for me aswell, great gun, don't bother with my other guns now.
srspower
Thought about the Winchester SX3? Brilliant gun IMO is the SX3! Totally agree, for the money you can't beat the SX3. Fantastic gun
BrowningDJC
If you want to go for a gas semi i cant recommend the maxus enough, if you are looking for an inertia driven auto then the new A5 or a benelli. In my opinion if you are going for a beretta the older 391's seem much stronger build than the new range.
Jay-Zee
Cheers people. I shall look up a few of the others mentioned above! Edited May 26, 2014 by Jay-Zee
thepasty
Ignore all these pretenders, go for the mother of all semi autos (quite literally).... the mighty Remington 1100. My brother got an Outlander which I've shot alot, its does shoot nice but for the money I wouldnt buy one, the plastic parts alone put me off. Berettacocker
Used to have Al390 gold mallard and loved it. Would pick another Beretta myself, but I think the Benelli takes some beating
