team tractor
I can't believe what's happening at the moment but here it goes ....... My girlfriend keeps asking to come shooting with me and I'm enjoying it. She's been pigeon shooting with me and she's not scared about picking them up. We go up the farm for a zero /plink / practice and she's very good . She's bought shooting clothing and keeps asking for her own gun So I'm buying her a .410 as I can learn the kids with it. I can't believe I'm enjoying it so much She's been bunny bashing with me and now wants to come foxing

kent
My 9 yr old daughter had her first proper lesson yesterday, the 14 yr old her second but my Mrs is quite good with a shotgun so I am not encouraging that one too much .
Penelope
Took mine to the shoot for the first time yesterday to feed and water the birds, she got stuck in hefting water and sacks of pellet, pulling feeders from under shelters and filling them. She drove the Rav around the heads lands and even forded a quickly filling stream with aplomb. Wants to go back next weekend as well. Wants to come pigeon shooting and beating too. Del T
Well I'm going to start leaving mine at home from now on as she keeps beating me on the clays.
fortune
Why should any of this be a problem to anyone? Unless you can't take the heat of a woman outdoing anyone in this field. This is a sport where all can take part on equal terms.
norfolk dumpling
Wife played squash at quite a high level and had a couple of shooting lessons at John Bidwells ground which she seemed to do ok with - wouldn't let me watch. However bought a s/h sbs and had a few clays to check fit etc. wife came with me and asked if she could try gun. Ok thought she would certainly miss as lessons were with a single trigger ou but guess what - she dusted both clays - haven't let her shoot since. Not cricket eh?? Scully
I'm buying her a .410 as I can learn the kids with it. Don't be so tight, get her a 12 bore ! You have to be a very good shot with a .410 to get good results.

Tried her with the 12 but it's too much for her. She's only little. Thought about a 20 but wouldn't want her shooting live animals yet so a 410 will be ideal on targets plus my daughter could use it
pigeon controller
My daughter pestered me to take her out when she was eighteen . Set up put a empty cartridge box on the edge of the pattern for a trial shot as she had never shot a real shotgun before. She had shot one of those electronic clay shoots at work on some corporate days and did well. During the day she shot 25 shells and hit ten birds , not bothered since. My son will not go out as he is embarrassed if he misses and I try to tell him that we all missed at first , might try him again

Loads from 16g to 28g - and you will never mis-load a 28ga shell in a 12ga barrel - falls straight through.

If she fancies the live quarry eventually I can recommend a Franchi 620 auto. Bought my nephew one when he was about 9 or 10, put in the widest chokes to try and give a bit of confidence and he loved it. Really good guns. Hope your girlfriend gets the bug seriously.
