pbutd
...sorry JDOG but the farmer was very keen for me to shoot these pigeons.I must have seen 2-3000 pigeons flighting over this field during the day,not really interested in the whirly? JDog
There is no need to apologise to me - I am not the moral policeman but I do have my own views on the matter. Each to their own but I would not shoot standing barley myself nor would I send a dog into the crop.
Wilts#Dave
How many did you shoot/pick up out of interest? Looked some nice flighting shots! Personally I don't see a problem with shooting a standing crop, but we tend to have one of us shooting and one picking up, each bird being picked up as it's shot. Decoying shots and disciplined shooting is a must if you want any hope of picking up what you shoot though, and we always take the 20 bore with light loads to help with that! Cranfield
A job well done, very good video. Not just for the content and some nice high shots, but the clarity and focus of the picture was excellent, especially near the beginning, when you had the blue skies and sunshine. The Essex Hunter
A job well done, very good video. Not just for the content and some nice high shots, but the clarity and focus of the picture was excellent, especially near the beginning, when you had the blue skies and sunshine. To add for new pigeon shooters, the shooter tracks the bird with his eyes not the gun, then the gun is only up and moving for a short while. Very good TEH

ollie
Very good shooting, but I hate to think of the amount of birds lost in that standing crop. Each to their own, good video.

Cosd
Great video and excellent shooting. The farmer dictates when he wants you to shoot, not peoples morals on the net. Regards shooting standing crops, I totally understand if choice is an option, but if the farmer wants someone there I wonder how many people would say no, especially if the farmer would call someone else in. caeser
I'm with Motty and Cosd. Lets be honest , we're only given permission to shoot to control the vermin. Nice video and shooting. Something to watch and keep us enthused, when we're stuck at home or whatever.
