Underdog
That's my girl! My lovely daughter came out for a spot of ratting and a natural shot she is too. Three rats for two cartridges (defiantly frugal like her old dad)! Then amazingly we spy a fox sneaking about in a farm building! I whisper "aim for the ribs only" and eventually at about ten yards my daughter dropped the small dog fox. A hasty reload and a second shot for good measure and it was over. Must of come for rat super! Here she is This girl can shoot I tell you! She has often amazed me with her archery, rifle shooting and shotgun shooting Underdog. robbiep
Congratulations on raising such a good shot ! I had a little fox (vixen) last spring with my W+S b/a 410 too, at similar range. Had to stalk it. All the best to daughter for the forthcoming arrival !

Fisheruk
Great when you can enjoy your own interests with your kids and their partners. Even better when it it is the grandkids!! Maybe a few years before that that one she is carrying comes with you, but my young ones like sitting on my knee and pulling the trigger on an old air rifle when I say go. It makes them realise that guns are real when they see the holes in the tin cans. She's a credit to you U.

Bobby199
Can I ask what load you use for foxes in the .410? As the only larger shot sizes I could find where 3in (and the W & S are 2.5in) Edited May 21, 2015 by Bobby199
robbiep
I don't know what shot size U was using, but at 10 yards or so absolutely anything will do serious or fatal damage to a fox. I had one last year with a 2.5" Eley loaded with No. 6 shot at about 12 yards.
Underdog
This one was #6 3/8oz. Years ago I took a fox at33yds with 1/2oz #7. With a 410 only shoot side on!
Bobby199
Thank you, better to check... I allways go overkill 12B 40g #
