steveyg
I came very close to achieving my first ton bag today,we finished on 182 picked and I had 92 on my clicker. My mate pickerup did a reccy yesterday on some local rape stubbles and found a 1,000+ so invited me to join him on what looked a red letter day. On arrival at 10am we noticed two magnets and three lads adding birds to the pattern....they had beat us to the desired spot :( We set up in an adjacent field and hoped we would entice a few off the very strong flight line... We were getting a few shots but probably a 10 to 1 ratio v the lads in the other field There was three of them in the hide and they were firing as quickly as they could load. Not sure what their bag was but it should of been in excess of 300 with the number of birds. Had a quality day cheers pickerup..!! Will post post pics tomoz

JDog
No...we were not on their flight line.pickerup is a very experienced shooter and asked them before we set up Oh good. We all must have rules even in the hidden world of pigeon shooting. That must have been one hell of a day. If you shot that number and the other boys were firing ten cartridges to every one of yours then they must have shot over 1,000. I would go out with them next time and leave Pickerup at home. I notice that you have changed your profile picture in recognition of your new status as a Pigeon Master.

They were firing a lot....not sure how many they were hitting though,Pickerup gave them some advice about trying to get the birds to decoy closer but it fell on deaf ears. If you/Pickerup had that many birds in front of you then a 300 bird day would have been possible. Not quite a pigeon master yet.....there are very few that can claim that title

pickerup
His shooting has improved no end in the last few outings, and it's down to 2 things, 1 iv'e managed to get him to slow down and take more time over his shots 2 the gun he bought off fen boy has been a big help. Well shot steve, if we had stayed abit longer you would have made your first 100. good company and a pleasure to shoot with. atb mate. p/u

Likewise, never reached that magic figure, but good luck to those who do. My personal best being 78 before being restricted to shorter forays, my bags also between currently between 5 & 35. I'm out tomorrow on wheat stubble having seen a build up and two good strong lines, so fingers crossed. Cracking day and well done Steveyg. Your 100 day is just round the corner, I'm sure.
