EMT
My personal circumstances are due to change shortly and I have the chance to move anywhere in the UK. As a family, shooting and working our dogs is a massive part of our lives. If you could live anywhere in the UK with the priority being on shooting /beating /picking up etc where would you go? When you are thinking of moving and you could go anywhere the UK suddenly becomes a very big place and anything to narrow down the choice would be a big help. Thanks

EMT
I am in deepest darkest Essex but I grew up in very rural Derbyshire and can't wait to get back to something similar.
fenboy
Scotland possibly . Edited September 6, 2015 by fenboy
EMT
Scotland is definitely a possibility though I have to admit that what I see the SNP doing with airgun licencing, the land reform bill etc does give me some concern. Not sure where it will end.

Thanks Why not somewhere like Norwich in Norfolk , surrounded with game shoots , beaters and pickers up are always in demand ,nice area to bring your kids up and the coast only 20 miles away from the city. P S .....And a up and coming football team
hoggysreels
In no order of preferrence. I'd consider ... The South Downs - Scotland - Ireland - Norfolk/Suffolk
EMT
I hadn't considered Norfolk and I don't know why, it definitely has plenty of shooting.

Scully
Cumbria...oh, hang on a minute. Or N. Yorkshire; some good shooting country round there also.
Medic1281
Look to France, I'd love to move over there. However your question was the UK, so I'd look at mid Wales or Shropshire. I'm biased but they are beautiful parts of the country. Best regards from a paramedic.

FalconFN
I have to say the only place I'd move to, other than East Sussex where I grew up and live, is Cumbria. The tourists would grate after a while but it is a fantastic place. I also love the south west but I'd have to move out in summer. kernel gadaffi
I live in Weardale, County Durham, I have access to the majority of my shooting within 10 miles, the River Wear is 100 yards from my front door, and is good for trout, sea trout and salmon, I aint going no-where, if I happen to win the lottery, I'd buy a little cottage near Inverness and could go shooting with my mate on an almost daily basis.
