flippermaj
Hi Jules, I am not much help to you as all I have is a question! I know you are an experienced shot so I wondered what you are doing wanting a heavy SXS 3inch mag for pigeon shooting? Whats the thinking? Cheers Mark
Westley
Winchester 23 had a high rib and, I think, 3" chambers. Fixed choke though.
flippermaj
Hi Jules, I see my post was a bit late as others have beaten me to the question! 6.5x55SE
Winchester 23 had a high rib and, I think, 3" chambers. Fixed choke though. Beat me to it. Jules ask Geoff what his was as I believe what he had would suit your needs
marsh man
Do you really need a 3 ins chamber for pigeons? Hi Whitebridges ........... I used a 3" for pigeon shooting for over 20yrs , in fact I used three over that period , Midland , F+ F, 32",. S x S , B S A F + 3/4 30" S x S , Sabala F + F 32" S x S , the only time I used three inch shells was when I treated myself to a box when there were a few geese about , the rest of the time were mainly 2 1/2" with the odd box of Alpamax or Hymax . I liked the weight and I never found it any problem in a hide , I used to decoy well out so you didn't have to swing your gun about to much , not like when you decoy close where you have to be a bit sharp when you go for a pair. another advantage is when the fowling season start you haven't got to get used to whatever gun you used for wildfowling. I still use a S x S, although I am down to a 2 3/4" now as I would find lugging one of my old guns about all day a bit to much for a bus pass holder . button
What about this, looks good value for money and may fit the bill but is a non ejc http://www.gunrestoration.co.uk/guns/guns-for-sale-details.asp?GunID=249 or http://www.yorkguns.com/aya-matador-12b-28-fc-ss-game-

figgy
The new 31/2" chambered Yildiz Wildfowlers is quite a heaven gun. Not light like the 3" chambered version. They are Mobil choked and pistol gripped with a single trigger. Don't think you would go far wrong as they are chrome lined too. Have a look at reviews online. fenboy
I told you the other day , have a look for a Baikal mp43 , raised rib ( I think ) single trigger definitely , multi choke and 7 3/4 lbs around £400 brand spanking
sportsbob
Don't know about a high rib but I like the look of this http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Zabala_Shotgun_Berri-Mag_For-Sale_150618162642003 . I have an old fixed choke Zabala magnum and it is built like a tank.
flippermaj
Pretty certain Boyd used to have the Zabala Berri mag, see what he has to say about it. I picked one up and while it was good enough quality it wasn't a patch on an AYA.
