Jgra13
Evening gents Every year come the end of January I attend two beating days. Following the season I will do some pigeon roost shooting, and some lamping of rabbits, then later on in the year start some pigeon decoying. I'm after a cartridge that I can buy in bulk now and use for all these quarry. Ive heard good reviews of the RC sipe?, will 32g 5 or 6's be better? Also I've seen some negative reviews about the RC in its fibre format, anyone had the same issues? Would rather use fibre if possible. Many thanks all! 👍
motty
Any 30 or 32gm cartridge loaded with 5,6 or 7 shot will suit your needs.
Wilts#Dave
Good shell the sipe, not a cheap load but if that's not a problem then give them a go! I've used them and black gold this season on driven pheasant both in fibre With no complaints. 5 or 6 shot will be fine. My favourite pigeon load however is Eley HB pigeon 32g p/wad, shot 21 sky scrapers on a roosting flightline on Saturday afternoon in less than an hour, was like a busy pheasant drive I could only dream of! Smokersmith
If you want to buy the SIPE Prestige, the 32g 6's will serve you well .... I've used a few slabs of the fibre wads on game and been impressed. If you want to save some money however, Hull Superfast 6's will also meet your needs .... wisdom
I used to use them and they are very good.

Cyrus1988
I think SIPEs are half a size bigger as they're European. So a #6 is really a #5.
evo
save yourself a lot of money and speak to George from proper cartridges,, get some 32g 5.5 , they are a superb cartridge for the money
archi
Sipes in a 32gram 5 shot take some beating but saying that I am using Georges Proper Cartridges Hi Speed 32 gram 4.5 shot and they are as good as the sipes for £50/k less
Paul T
I shoot RC Sipes and have been pretty impressed so far. For roost shooting I prefer something a bit bigger to get through roof canopies - usually a #5 shot, which are fine for rabbits too. For decoying I'd stick to #6 or maybe even #7 I'd ask for a mix of #7 and #5 at the bulk rate

Many thanks all! nothing wrong with their fibres the 32g 5s are brilliant, good thump but are excellent tall pheasant cartridge.if mostly pigeon then I would go 6s...their shells are Italian sizes so in reality a 5 is more like a 41/2...6 a 5.5 etc......have been using their rc sipe 7s in 20g for roost shooting....vv good. Alycidon
There are no bad cartridges that I am aware of these days, all kill when placed correctly. I have used a few boxes of Sipe, no problems at all. Think shot size is half a size bigger than that quoted on the case as French ( Italian ?) shot sizes are slightly larger than ours. Certainly the Sipe 5s I used killed as far as I dared try them. A

Scully
Have used RC SIPE 32grm 5's (really a 4 so I've been informed) for some time now and they are a very good cartridge. I've shot bolting rabbits, and both driven and walked up game with them and they are impressive, and pattern amazingly well in my Grand European. I tried them for decoying earlier this year and even with a heavy Sporter I found them to be more than a little punchy after long periods of intense shooting. A mate who was using them in a light game gun couldn't bear them after an hour or so and swapped to a lighter load. Haven't tried them through my auto when decoying, but some of the recoil should be soaked up with an auto in a hide I would think.
IEH
I found the recoil from SIPE Prestige downright nasty in my game gun. Great cartridge though, which shoots very nicely through my Beretta semi auto or my Benelli pump. Edited December 17, 2015 by IEH
