lord_seagrave
Little Lord Seagrave has brought home a lot of little friends from nursery recently, one of whom is particularly reluctant to leave. I'm not saying it's pleurisy, but does anyone have any tips for shifting a gritty cold off of my chest? I tried drinking a lot of scotch last night, and although I slept pretty well, the grockle I hawked up this morning looked like that thing out of Ghostbusters. lksopener
Gp for some oral ABX. I use night nurse for cold and flu type stuff, liquid version. 20mls before bed you will sleep like a dream, just might feel like you've had a bottle of vodka the night before when you wake. Dougy
A decent Phall, followed by a good portion of Port and Brandy, on with some thermals heating on full up to bed, if at all possible a good portion of passion. By morning you should be in tip top condition and fit for a bit of pigeon shooting again.. After you've been to the WC of course..
Lord Geordie
The fact your bringing it up is not a bad thing! I use a cheapo mucous mix from the like of B&M it's a tiny bottle and costs £1 and has always worked for loosening the **** on my chest! Also apple cider vinegar with honey and cayenne pepper works to beat the cold. Burns like hell, but works!

Lord Geordie
There is an old wives remedy of apparently sticking sliced onion to your feet for bed? Loads swear it works! They proved something about cabbage leaf on your chest overnight helped some disorder?
lord_seagrave
Excellent. I do love a cuzza, and that is all the incentive I need to order one of my favourite naga chilli bhunas... Bog roll in the fridge? Check. lord_seagrave
Echinacea really works well Really? Lady S has got some raspberry and echinacea tea in the cupboard. I might try that too. Cheers Aaz! LS
rjimmer
Cheese and onion sandwiches work sometimes. I've got through a dozen packets of Hall lozenges and Lockets in the last week, a packet of Lemsip and now on the 3rd pack of Fisherman's Friend. LS No worries, I found the Echinacea in a liquid form that you add a few drops to a glass of water the best but teas worth a bash, normally kicks in after 12hrs

malkiserow
A bit of exercise I find a good thing .... not easy but pushing yourself does seem to help me. Try a good walk
shalfordninja33
+1 for nightnurse. Liquid form, discard the measuring cap and glug a good mouth-full. And Zinc tablets. Our two are always bringing germs home from school, I take one zinc table and one vitamin C tablet at bedtime, I rarely get a cold now whereas the rest of the house pick them up pretty much every month. The kids now take multi vitamins which as also helped somewhat.
winnie&bezza
All those lozenges and sucky sweets are full of sugar which weakens your immune system as does alcohol. Cheese creates more mucus so I would t eat that. Just have hot lemon, raw onion, cayenne pepper, cider vinegar and paracetamol.
hedge
If you are producing lots of green stuff then it could be an infection and maybe some penicillin required? Is your chest quite `rattly`? Lots of rest, fluids and some decongestant. Might disappear in a few days without big drugs.

Rub the soles of your feet with Vicks Vapour Rub. Heard that one too, but until recently I was too fat to reach my own feet. bruno22rf
If sucking a Fisherman's friend doesn't take your fancy then 1/2 bottle of neat syrup of figs usually stops you coughing.
