team tractor
Well I was busy at work today and a piece of oak decided to squash my finger . I danced around for a while and went to our local minor injuries. My finger was totally flat lol. Turned out I've shattered it .

Konnie
I work with slabs of marble stood up toast rack style, and the old fella's used to say the worst thing you can do is if you trap your finger is pull it out, try not pulling it out in that millisecond it nips, but they are right. I feel for your finger, surprising how you can feel your heartbeat in your finger.

I thought I'd keep the pw shoot tradition of having a broken bone lol. The oak squashed the blade and hey presto is lifted and landed on my finger. All guards and knife in place as I'm mad on that. As you say it's our trade and in the blood lol
winnie&bezza
Nothing more painful than whacking the end of your finger! Hate to say it but it's gonna throb for a while yet. My college teacher said your not a true joiner unless you've lost fingers but I think that's a stupid statement. I cut the top of my wrist to the bone with a chop saw when I was 18 (dodgy guard and didn't put my hand in it on purpose) and cut through a tendon and nerve. Three months off work and did lots of shooting :-)

The saw went bang as it slammed down and I hit the kill switch . I walked to my dad , chucked my ear defenders and dust mast on the bench and said I need to go hospital . It's only 3/4 minutes away. I was signed in, seen a nurse, sent to X-ray and back to the nurse all in 15 minutes.

I replied I'd had nothing. I don't feel pain really. I hope to keep my fingers but I spend 8-10 hours 5-6 days a week in the shop so it stand a chance

I can cope with pain quite well and I don't like to show it even if I am. When I cut my wrist it didn't hurt that much really but only when the doc squeezed the wound together to see about stitching it up (he hadn't realised that I'd cut tendons etc) it made me swear. Hope it heals quick for you mate.

moose man
Had similar a couple of years ago , I was attempting to move a large beam a few millimetres by the traditional method of using a large hammer and a block of wood and for some strange reason after the first whack I changed my grip on the block , second whack hit my finger absolutely square on ...worst part was the nurse trying to put the nail back in and later had a pin put down the bone none of which was any fun whatsoever ...it took the best part of six months before it was anywhere near normal ..good luck with yours .. I did that with my thumb. I was working on the m6 toll and slipped knocking nails into a fishing stage straight onto my thumb and broke it down the length. This was on the Friday and I was racing an enduro on the Sunday I'm back in work Monday but I get the weekend off
