JDog
The Beretta A400 has been in my possession two weeks now and I am just getting the hang of it. At least I now know where the cartridges go in, where the safety catch is and how to put the thing back together once I have taken it apart for cleaning. The other day I forgot to put the choke back in having cleaned it. Luckily I spotted it before I used it again. My question is, what would the pattern be like if I shot the gun without the choke? Whitebridges
It would work. The gun I mean. Doesn't do the choke thread any good though. In the meantime your brain needs a clear out. Have you got lots on or something? Edited June 13, 2016 by Whitebridges

Have you got lots on or something? I have always got lots on. At the moment that includes a mother who wishes to die and a mother in law who is riddled with cancer. With that sort of thing going on I am lucky if I remember to pull up my fly zip.
motty
The patterns would be open with no choke in. Wouldn't do the threads too much harm.
Harnser
It would work to a degree . Don't think the pattern would be very Good . Don't even think to put steel through it with out a choke in it for obvious reasons . I once went out pigeon shooting with my beretta gas gun and didn't notice untill the end of the day that I didn't have a choke in it . When I got home I gave the barrel a good clean and it was fine . GingerCat
Smear the choke thread with greese, screw it in and forget about it for a while; you've got other things on your mind.
Royboy
Sorry to hear that JD old age is no good, I was told it could split the end of the barrel because the wall is thinner where it's had the threads cut ?

Dekers
My question is, what would the pattern be like if I shot the gun without the choke? Wide and probably a little erratic!
