unico1
Just received new magnet from a1. After putting it next to my old one whilst running noticed that new one runs clockwise whilst old one runs anticlockwise. Wouldn't of thought it makes any difference would it? Wondering if I ran my old and new magnet together whilst shooting birds wouldn't be put off with them going in opposite directions??
JDog
I have never known pigeons to be attracted to birds on a rotary going anti clockwise.
la bala
I have had magnets running both ways, if the pigeons see what they like on the day, they will come in. Its when you got forward facing birds going in reverse you need to worry.
unico1
Really will be interested to see if I notice a difference with birds reactions with clockwise rotary. After all these years thinking it was my bad field craft could of been damn magnet going wrong way!!
la bala
These didnt mind 2 magnets going in different directions, maybe they just got confused

la bala
Nice bag there, there we go then it don't matter what way!! But they were Fenland pigeons
motty
I have no idea why anyone would think that two magnets rotating in opposite directions, would deter pigeons from decoying.
marsh man
But they were Fenland pigeons You wouldn't have got away with that in Norfolk la bala , they would have took invasive action and flew away in reverse .

Motty its good to see there are other decoyers out there that are not bothered if the magnet is going clockwise or anticlockwise
pigeon controller
We use a magnet to get movement in your decoy set up so the rotation is not important in my opinion.

TaxiDriver
Bought a magnet once, put it together, when you connect up the battery as per the instructions, it rotates and unscrews it's off the motor. It went back in the bag and back in boot of the car/shed

big bad lindz
this may sound daft but have you tried reversing the polarity on the connections to see if it turns the other way ?

bode.boden
if the pigeons won't to be on that field they will come no matter which way it's going lol
old'un
Makes no difference which way it goes....but! If you have the A1 lightweight rotary you cannot have it running anti clockwise because the drive will only engage in a clockwise direction. unico1
Oldun, new magnet is from a1 that goes clockwise, old magnet goes anti clockwise, going to leave them as they are, one going one way, one the other that way can't get it wrong from the pro's on here!!! No what I mean?? Cheers

buze
Small further question regarding rotation; the A1 fancy decoys wing position isn't terribly clear; should they flap as appearing to fly 'backward' or 'forward' ? If I put the white part on the underside, they fly 'backward' like they are braking... Or does it matter at all?

The main thing is getting movement in your pattern so it pulls birds close enough for a shot, if your setup spooks them when they are 20/30 yards out then its done its job, they are within killing range.
