Brad93
Hi guys. Im purchasing a tikka T3X at some point in the next few weeks. Just been in my local gun shop and they’re recommending an A-tec modular moderator, I think it might have been a CMM4. I already have an Atec aluminium moderator on my .17HMR however I am noticing erosion of the first two baffles. It is cleaned regularly too. Does anyone have any other recommendations? The hausken ones look good but again aluminium baffles.
Rst1990
Wildcat p8 seems a popular moderator and I have not heard any that have gone wrong etc. all depends on what you are looking for ie light weight, modular, size etc. i went for a wildcat p12 as noise moderation was most important as I use it near horses and it’s quieter than my hmr. walshie
I've got a wildcat P8 on my 223. Works great, easy to clean, but a bit heavy. I have a Hausken on my 22 hornet and it's rated for all 22 centrefire. Much smaller and lighter. Edited February 23, 2018 by walshie
Brad93
Like the look of the ASE Utra but they’re £120-130 dearer than most other moderators

m0t0deb
Have a look at DPT moderators, very light, its what I have on my T3X 223, very quiet according to my rather ancient mk1 ears. About £225 if I remember right

Squirrel73
If the weight of your moderator is a consideration as it is for me on my 22/250 varmint barrel with heavy nightforce scope then I can recommend the dpt moderator. Dazza9t9
Dpt gets my vote. I have one on my 243. Extremely light and brilliant quality

Savhmr
If you want quiet, than Stalon are about the best. If you want light wight yet really well made with stainless internals and one mod to use across a range of cals (replaceable threaded front end for each rifle) then the Aimsport Aimzonic Triton Predator. Warranted for a full 5 years/unlimited rounds too. I use an ASE SL5 on my 223 but they are a little on the heavy side. The Aimsport is half the weight with similar performance. steve_b_wales
Take a look at the Phantom moderator. I bought one for my .22 Hornet, but it's rated for 30cal. My mate tried it on his 22-250 and it worked well. I purchased mine from Sportsman Guncentre. Don't let the low price put you off.
Harry136
I would recommend a DPT moderator, very quiet, strippable, modular and lightweight.
