Apart from having a female thread where a male should be on one, they look very nice.

The camera lied. The two longer portions are a different colour,  have a smaller diameter and the wood is inferior to the handle. As can be seen on the RH rod in the photo, the wood/brass joints reflect that the brass is secured by the cheaper swaged/crimped method which according to the item description should be cross riveted - which the handle is. The only portion that the male thread at the bottom of the RH rod suits is that of the bottom end of the centre rod.

As ever, when Murphy kicks off Sod joins in and I'm sure that this will be sorted.

They look very similar to the set I brought from the rfd my first o/u came from.

He insisted it was Bisley even though nothing had the Bisley name on it. Its OK, the threads aren't the best as it works its way loose most of the time, that said since I brought a bore snake it hardly gets used.

Only paid £20 or £21 for mine I think, handy to have the wire brushes I suppose but as the guns get a clean after every outing a pull or 2 with the bore snake is usually enough.

Trouble with e-bay is the amount of fake brand names and poor copy,s of the real deal. In  a gunshop you can see and examine your new item but on the bay u pays your money and hope its real, shame as the ebay /amazon routine is killing gunshops imho

Totally agree most of the stuff on eBay are utter **** fake goods. Recently bought a “genuine” Xbox controller for my son to find that the packaging was all in Chinese and a cheap copy. Reported it and sent back got a refund but clearly a dodgy seller like the majority.

I see, which outfit were they supplied by?

Would you like me to send you a nice wooden set?

Many thanks for the offer but I'm sure all will be well. I've just posted it off for a replacement item, this time one as is as advertised.

I can't reach him at the moment to find out what he ended up with, as I know he was needing one as well and as I felt able to vouch for the seller, I think my step-son also went for one - we've both just acquired a double gun motor case pending the arrival of a new gun each and in which the cleaning rod storage is such that a 3 piece item is required. Even if I COULD assemble the one sent it would be no good as with the chamber brush handle it would disappear down the barrel.

Yeah, but bore snakes don't get your barrels clean.
