Considering I have collected for over 50 years,  but by going into gunshops, ironmongers, asking everyone I meet.

Thanks, I'll keep more of an eye out in the future, there was stall set up at the british shooting show with old carts on, spent ages looking lol.

Do any of you have any Cogswell and Harrison "Victor" cartridges(1902 ish)?? I would love a couple for the gun case.

Where do you pick these up from? I've got a couple eley. 410 boxes but only they were left overs from my great grandad, would love to add to the collection.

I have a friend who is a collector and he is a member of a collecting club. They have regular meets where they buy/sell, mainly swap with people all over the country.

The club is called the "United Kingdom Cartridge Club" (UKCC)   another good source is an auction website called Specialist Auctions just google it and youll get the web address.

Anyone remember these?

Have carefully avoided one third of the cartridge circumference

It's become patently obvious that we're talking serious collections here. Apart from the fact that they offered good advice, these were not produced in great numbers and as such could be termed a "collectors' item". This one is sitting in my cabinet where it's been for high on 40 years doing nothing - I've very nearly shot it several times for the smell of the paper case . Now that Old Boggy has kindly pin-pointed the source, if anyone wishes to add a little humour to their collection, all they have to do is ask.

Looks like the shop is still there ! J B Banks & Son,they now have a Heritage museum in the shop too. I remember it as a time warp ,like so many country establishments, most of which are sadly long gone ...

Also attached pic of a couple of W R Pape cartridges.

A few more random cartridges here, not especially rare but it's useful to have pictures up online for future reference.

'The Tayside' primed empty case from R. Gow & Sons in Dundee. This shop closed in 2014 I believe

'The Grouse' by P.D Malloch of Perth (16 bore). Shop is still going.

Eley Rocket

Eley Special Trap Shooting

'The Trusty Servant' by Hammond Bros in Winchester. I believe closed in the 1930's(?)

A few two inch cartridges, two by Eley and one certainly more recent one by Express
