old man
Just outside Twycross convinced I saw a ring necked parakeet landing at the roadside, just fleeting but shape and colour correct.
kennett
Not impossible, with the numbers there are in and around London, it's only a matter of time until they spread out
Scully
The Scarlet Macaws just down the rad in K.Stephen are quite famous. Not sure if they're breeding but they certainly fly free around town.
Walker570
Probably escaped from the zoo just down the road. I'll keep my eyes open.
Vince Green
We have lots of "green parrots" as they are called round here. They are becoming one of the most common visitors to the bird table and feeders in the garden of the house next to where I live. Quite pushy, they swoop down about six at a time and any other birds, including pigeons just vacate the table. I think they are gradually pushing out the other species, you don't see the thrushes, blackbirds, starlings or sparrows hardly at all now

chrisjpainter
THey've been breeding in Northampton for a bit now, I believe, so Leicestershire isn't a stretch

Vince Green
They are listed on the General Licence, I would say they can be shot anytime. without having to pay lip service to considerations like crop protection. The protection of other species clause should cover it. Mind you, the way they are going I don't think it will be long before they start finding their way on the fields. Old Boggy
Lots round here in Kent. Last year saw a flock of about 20 or so in Thanet. Now on general licence. Pal of mine shot and ate one. Said quite tasty but not a lot of meat on it. OB
