ph5172
Sometime over the weekend some kind soul has split a pool of Diesel on my drive (about a coke can full) along with the associated large spots from driving on and off (as well as a trail down the road) How would i go about cleaning it off, i assume it was done Saturday evening or Sunday day. ditchman
there is a liquid you can buy that garages use...you add water to it then put it on with a watering can....it breaks all the oil up and washes away............. if its dry try mr muscle oven cleaner....leave for 10 mins then hose off......... GingerCat
Try fairy liquid and leave it to soak, then either rub some sand in and wash off or pressure wash off.

fern01
My experience is that the diesel 'burns' the tarmac and will not come out, ever

ph5172
Luckily I did give it a squirt with washing up liquid and water then left it. Didnt really do a lot but I have put some loose soda powder over it tonight then tomorrow will wet it and give it another scrub. I just don’t want half the street thinking it’s me who has dropped diesel all up the road !!

SpringDon
Don’t use engine degreaser; I did and it caused a dinner plate size hole in the tarmac. My mum was not pleased.

figgy
I used washing up liquid on my parents tarmac drive the when I visited the day after they moved into a brand new house. Dad wasn't pleased even more annoyed after a few months and the drive disintegrated where my car had dropped a spot of oil.
