shootingmike
A few years back, i was fowling and someone had a kind of rectangular umbrella that was realtree - ideal for weight and portability instead of lugging poles and nets miles cross a marsh. Also useful whilst waiting for the dark if raining. As it got light, he tilted it towards the flighting geese. any ideas where you could get such a thing - I’ve looked for years and have never found one... shootingmike
It had holes in like a normal hide net but still useful for a small shower if it rains whilst waiting for daylight..

shootingmike
I know I mentioned lugging stuff across a marsh, but it’d actually be more often needed for on rivers where, sat on the mud below the high water mark, you stick out like a sore thumb without some sort of cover
aberisle
Get yourself one of these hides, i used one last season and it worked great, its light weight and you can adjust the height of it very easily. https://www.djdecoys.com/product/portable-reedy-camo-blind-hide/

Seems a good net for the money.
aberisle
The pole are integral to the net and they telescope up when you want to increase the height, the hide collapses down to around 3ft in length and rolls up to about 4" diameter and comes in a pull cord bag that has a sling attached . Smokersmith
I use a roll of the 2ft high garden mesh with some desert camo net attached to it. Just right when the creeks you’re in are getting smaller near the edge and very portable when rolled up. I just use a stainless clip onto my rucksack when carrying, and my thumbstick one side and a bit of garden cane on the other when looking for a bit more cover. motty
I find a hide essential at times on the marsh. With a good tide, gutters are no longer a hiding place. I simply use 4 bamboo canes with a green and brown net cable tied to them. I would definitely shoot less ducks and geese without it.
