toontastic
Liverpool were 2 wins away from being champions, there was also the possibility they would have been champions without winning another game. Before Corona came along and disrupted the world they were dominating the league in a way no other team has ever done. If the season doesn't restart is the honourable thing to just declare them champions. As a Newcastle supporter I am more than happy to see them awarded the title. WalkedUp
We want to win it, not be given it 🔥 I was at Anfield in ‘95 to see the England captain lift the Premier league trophy. Keenan’s melt down broke my heart in ‘96. I am firmly in the ABU tribe. I go to Old Trafford quite a lot these days, there is a great rivalry and things get quite tense in the local pubs afterwards. 😉
Cheshirelad
LFC have waited 30 years to win the premier league title. They've been close a few times, but this season they have been in a different class. They will never repeat what they have done this season .... and that's from a lifelong LFC fan .... but the advent of the Coronavirus has brought things into perspective. People's lives are far more important than a league title - and I never thought I'd ever say that! Hopefully, once C19 is under control, we can return to normality, but until we do, the long wait for LFC will continue. YNWA!
WalkedUp
True, Juergen Klopp was well ahead of the curve. When you are a football manager and the WHO are praising you for saying football isn’t important compared to lives, that’s when you know you are good guy. I am gutted. I’ve had a season ticket at Anfield for 30 years and was due to take my 5 year old son to see his first game in April (long time planned to coincide with the seasonal weather) and what a first game it would have been. toontastic
I'm of the opinion that an end to the season should be found ASAP. Champions/relegation should be sorted out, as long as we are in limbo my worry is that we make a rushed decision into returning to normality. Never mind scrap the season 🤣🤣 ( I'm a closet Everton fan who couldn't name 5 of the current squad)

discobob
I work in the same building as LFC in the city center and regularly see some of their stars coming in and out or in the coffee shop on the ground floor. I only know them because they are usually decked out head to toe in some sponsorship kit. I usually sneak a picture and message my son to ask who it is - with the exception of Sir Kenny. I don't follow football but he is a massive Liverpool fan along with my wife. For me, they have the wrong shaped balls (I come from St Helens )

Another toon fan here and completely agree, the points don't lie and I think all promotions and relegations should go ahead, there's a lot of hard work through all divisions that may not be repeatable through either luck, player moves or management changes. AVB
Season should be scrapped. No champions, no relegation. Just start next season afresh. Champions league qualifiers should be as per this season.
panoma1
Championships, relegation, promotion and cup qualification should not be decided by default......but I fear this may be the case?

yates
There is no doubt that the season will have to played to its conclusion. There is no other option. The amount of litigation for the proposed relegation and promotion will be unbelievable. What about which clubs will go into the champions league etc. If it goes to pro rata or worked out on the possible form of the teams before suspension who will accept these decisions if your team loses out. Say even CL, Liverpool are out so I’ve not vested motive but clearly it would be a travesty to the teams that have done well to get to the Quarter Finals for it to be voided. Better to void next season and play this one out to finish a year late 2019-21.

My comment was obviously tongue in cheek but in all seriousness whatever option they take people will complain that it isn't fair - the fact that the games weren't played when they were scheduled is a big difference - players who were injured are now fit etc. neutral venue - the home teams lose their advantage, behind closed doors - again home teams lose their fan advantage. imo the fairest option is to void the season. Nobody wins, nobody gets relegated. Qualifiers for all cups are as they were for this season, so if you were in the Champions league this year then you are in it next year. CV-19 has a drastic impact on everything so its a logical reason to just write the season off and forget that it ever existed. Harsh on Liverpool but fairer for everybody else and if Liverpool are that good they will walk it next year.

I think that it would be better to complete this season as soon as its safe to do so. Its important that not only Champions are rewarded, but also the relegation issues are sorted out. That may mean restarting in August/Sept whenever. I believe there are about 7 games left per team, these could be completed as two games per week. Next season could start as later as necessary and play a few times at two games a week to complete next season on time. The players won't need a summer break this year, or preseason, they have enough time off.
