12gauge82
Right, so I've bought myself a shiny new airgun, it's been a long time since I owned one, preferring rifles and shotguns. It's an airarms s410 and will be used for general messing about, paper punching and vermin control from rats at short ranges to bunnies at 40 or so yards. Can anyone recommend me a decent scope without spending silly money on it, something which is accurate with acceptable light gathering, with magnification enabling shots from 5 to 50 or so yards. Thanks.
Bowlander
You can shoot very well to 40 yards with 4x magnification, its exactly like shooting ten yards with no magnification at all . I like airguns with low magnification , small in size , low to the bore and able to hold thier zero .
Ultrastu
I prefer higher mags . Around 7x for 25 yds 10x for 35 yds And 12 x for up to 50 yds . And more mag beyond that . I would reccomend a 3 - 12 x 44 hawke This will do every thing you will ever need Edited July 11, 2020 by Ultrastu

bruno22rf
Personally I prefer Nikko Stirling scopes, you could buy a Mountmaster for next to nothing - I would search for something with better glass that's second hand. Going to need to be Air Rifle dedicated or AO if not - cannot stand ir but that's just me. The S410 is a superbly accurate Rifle - give it the eyes it deserves. Yeah definitely want to put something worthy up there, I'm just not a kit junkie and wouldn't want to needlessly go over the top. Really appreciate the suggestion, I'll take a look. bruno22rf
pm "ant.mass" he had some reasonable scopes for sale a few weeks back - if you search the Wanted section you should find my "period scope" post and he has a list on there. steve_b_wales
Hawke scopes carry a minimum 10 year warranty and are excellent. Nikko Sterling also make good scopes too.

oldypigeonpopper
Hello, I would find a good condition Hawke HD scope 3x 9 x 40 or 50 would give better clarity at dawn or dusk
sam triple
Just bought an Hw110 fitted with a nikko Stirling scope , it’s like the Hubble telescope
figgy
Hawke vantage 4-12 side focus would be my choice. I bought the 3-9 front so version, I should have spent the extra few pounds for the above. Side focus is so much easier to use. As for mag, you can set it to whatever you choose. The as s410 I had came with a Nikko sterling 4-12 with illuminated reticle, great for dusk or dawn shooting. Had lots of settings for brightness and colour. Nice scope to be fair. Walker570
Pull up Deben on google and browse the Airmax scopes by Hawke. I like the side focus models but there is a good choice. I have them mounted on my air rifle, 22RF and 17 HMR and my 22Bench Rest rifles and they have performed very well for over ten years. Good back up from Deben as well.
