wymberley
Help, please, Guys as I'm well, well outside of my comfort zone. OK, £1K tops for a non FAC PCP, 177, Thumbhole (unless someone mentions Air Arms), preferably a carbine barrel possibly with a moderator supplied, laminate stock and adjustable. How about Ultimate Sporter R Laminate - which I suspect is your "US" - just add 'ed'.

I'm thinking a second hand R10, then get a custom thumbhole stock, seen some very nice ones. Plenty to choose from these days.
clangerman
shot 41 pigeons with a s510 carbine today look no further does what it says on the box and more
Ttfjlc
@Mice! Is correct, I own an S510R Ultimate Sporter, 2 mags supplied, decent Q-tec silencer as standard, a very impressive shot count. It isn't the lightest gun but if you intend to shoot from a hide/car/sticks then that doesn't matter. The most impressive thing is the accuracy, I was testing my FAC air rifle at 60 yards when I thought I'd have a go with the US, first 4 pellets creating a cloverleaf on the target then I was humbled when the 2 other shots went a bit astray . wymberley
I can see that this is going to be fun. Why on earth would you advertise on Gun Trader if you don't/won't deliver? Must have learned their sales techniques at Browning in Belgium.
pork chop
I’d be looking at an fx wildcat not sure you’ll find a laminate one for that money though
Mr.C
You don't say what you want it to do. Hunting, plinking off a bench, FT or HFT? Either way buy an air arms. @bruno22rf's recommendation for new or 2nd hand, the world's your lobster.
wymberley
Fortunately, I'm not too fussed. Yep, I had preferences but nothing was going to be a deal breaker (apart from me having to drive half way across the country) if I could find either a Weihrauch, Air Arms or BSA. If I can plonk it down on the bench, pull the trigger and occasionally hit something that'll do. I've found a nice package* that barely qualifies as used at a very good price which takes the edge off my pension outlay - not to mention some decent bits that I don't need and can sell on. With any rifle fitted with a scope I always have had to raise the comb by fair means or foul. It's lucky that the BSA wood stocks are adjustable whereas some just reserve this for the laminates. *Which, to whom it may concern, includes an air bottle. 😀
strimmer_13
I might add, if im allowed (especially to a mod 😂) on bbs you get some bargains. Just seen a s510 us in 177 go for £550.
figgy
Used FX Wildcat would be my first choice. Second would be a Dreamline in laminate stock.

bruno22rf
I own and use a Wildcat but I would not recommend one if you are a relative beginner to the Air Rifle scene. The scope rail on these is pretty high and makes range estimation and relevant hold over/under more critical than on a ,say, S510.

Have you got something then? It sounds like an R10 or Scorpion? We await pictures.
