wyn
Nice, and it can still be rolled along.

Could come in handy for our future shooting range. I know of a cable jointing company local to me who have loads of empty reels in their yard. I assume there's a return value on them though. I'll check them out.
NoBodyImportant
Honestly, they don’t look treated. Probably fall apart pretty quickly.

No, they are not treated, but I know are very sturdy. They could be painted/protected I suppose.

fatchap
Very nice, like that a lot, be nice in the garden. Only trouble is those cable reels are quite hard to come by. I see loads of empty one on sites, ask if I can have one and always get told no, company takes them back and all must be accounted for. Never seen one dumped
powler
A good idea for a shooting table, we used one that was not modified for a coffee table in the smoking area at my old works, lasted about 3 years before it started to rot, it was stood on concrete outs in the elements. I did put a few pieces of timber underneath to but the top started to rot first. So if you had it on a old pallet or some timber or a few bricks and maybe covered it when not in use, with treatment should last quite some time.
