boo
Afternoon, my swb landcruiser passed its m.o.t yesterday, good news for the old girl , lad who runs the garage, recommended, undersealing it , it was wax oiled , but a couple of years ago , it's pretty clean underneath bar the mud ! So what do people recommend? Was reading up on por 15 for the underbody & maybe agricultural paint for the axles? Thoughts welcome, going to be a messy job but worth it , whilst being locked down... Rob85
I've heard of some rednecks painting the underside of their wagons in used engine oil and driving up and down a dusty road. Bet the council would love you for that
old'un
why not use wax-oil again, it does what it says on the can.
Fuddster
have a gander at the toyota landcruisers owners club-theres some threads on there about such. I have a 120 LWB (04) and it has surface rust but the metal is solid. f.
boo
Could just wax oil , but I'm going underneath to jet wash, clean off any surface rust , might as well paint a sealer on etc , then next year wax oil if needed! Surprisingly clean underneath considering her age...

countryman
Never been a fan of wax oil , it is very messy and when you need to work underneath it gets all over you. I prefer Dinitrol, gives a better finish as well.

NoBodyImportant
Por 15 is amazing. It’s the same thing as Marine clean and the US navy uses it on chain and anchors. It goes on more like ink then paint and will not come off. It also doesn’t leave brush marks so I’d pant the axle also. I used it on my Malibu Edited October 17, 2020 by NoBodyImportant
boo
Must admit swaying to the por15, that looks classy ...

It’s goes on like a ink, not a paint. It leaves no brush strokes. Plus it does scratch off. I had the A arms in a vice and beat the bushings in with a hammer and the finish didn’t flake off. It’s literally the same thing as Marine clean wich is used on Navy ships to coat chains and anchors wear paint would peel off. But be warned. It soaks into you skin like ink also. So they really aren’t **** around with the wear gloves warning. I had a black spot on my cheek for like 2 weeks from where I got some on my face. boo
Question on the por 15 , if it goes on like ink , what size tin to get? As it's not an overly massive vehicle, does it go far ?
