discobob
Just seen the news flash - unfortunately he has passed away but what a legacy to leave behind and what an example to all 😞
Mice!
He certainly had a good innings and raised morale, hopefully his family were with him.
JohnfromUK
Very sad, but he had a good innings and will be remembered for his courage, determination and good work. Nice that he was able to receive his knighthood from H.M. despite 'lockdowns'.
AVB
And he got to enjoy his holiday in Barbados over Christmas so he must have had some happy memories of that.

TIGHTCHOKE
Oh what a damned shame, one of the VERY best examples of a truly wonderful human being. RiP
Fisheruk
Yes, very sad. Hope it wasn’t his holiday in the Bahamas in December which led to his demise. 😳

JohnfromUK
I read today https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-56085814 that his family have been 'trolled' with very unpleasant posts via Twitter in relation to his death. Someone (in Lanark, Scotland) has been arrested in connection with this and the implication was that there were several other offensive posts/messages. The one referred to (putting it in reasonably civilised terms) was anti UK military personnel. Utterly disgraceful.
TIGHTCHOKE
Yes I saw that on the news and was discussing it with one of the Gas Engineers. Absolutely shocking, what possible reason do these muppets have for doing such awful things. Very glad his daughter was sensible in not letting Sir Tom know. It'd not be too big a leap of faith to have a guess that said pillar of the local Lanarkshire community was/is one of the very many bierkeller brownshirts that emerged from the sewers at the time of the IndyRef campaign....folk with less capacity for independent thought than an unwell amoeba were given validation from the SNP kommisars & made to believe that their opinion was the only one that mattered & the rest of the world has to listen to his opinion no matter how warped or non-sensical Utter scum - same mindset & from the same demographic as the anti-everything hunt-sab crusty juggler ban-the-English EU-for-Freedom Brexit-means-instant-death mob of itinerant soap dodgers The court case will be interesting - I feel a supervision order for community service would be the best option in this case, IF, said throbber is found guilty. Easy sentence - all they got to do to complete it is to match the money that Capt. Sir Tom raised for charity themselves; let the punishment fit the crime
