I might join Facebook, just so that I can spread that rumour .😅 In all honesty, I suppose that it could be possible, but hopefully, very very unlikely. Part of the issue is that films and computer games have stretched sci-fi so far that some people have lost sight of the real current technological boundary of mankind, this combined with a lot of people not even knowing what they don't know leads to a proportion of the public thinking there is nothing particularly remarkable in what has just, and is about to be, achieved. Agreed. I recall as a kid a primary school trip to London and a visit to Heathrow to see a ‘jumbo jet’. I don’t know how true it is, but I remember reading somewhere that NASA conceded at the time that the development and building of Concorde was on a par with putting a man on the moon. 🤷♂️ We seem to be very blasé about achievements these days, although the speed with which an effective vaccine has been developed has impressed me greatly. But when I tell the story , quarantine will have failed due to radiation resistant Martian bacteria , and none of the experts will realise this until the bacteria has gotten a grip on the earth. Nobody will notice until rainfall increases , but by then it'll be too late . If you don't believe me , just look out of the window to see if it's raining . The one thing I was really disappointed with was the relatively light coverage of this on the news, given all the current doom and gloom and repetitive news it was a great opportunity to engage the public and maybe trigger a few youngsters to get interested in high tech. Good coverage in the Telegraph this morning. The mathematics just to work this all out puts me in a spin.

I sometime wonder how our experts would be suggesting we cope with a cooling planet rather than a warming one. dont think your teacher is far wrong............we are approaching the next ice age.....it gets warmer first and melts the ice caps....the salinity of the ocean changes and diverts the warmer current that warms the northern hemisphere....then it gets cold.....ice age stops when precipitation builds up as snow/ice and the salinity increases and the warm current once again resumes its travel/flow to the northern hemisphere..........this also co-insides with the occilation of the tilt of the earth........................ so i understand.. I think the fact there’s been nothing like it since highlights how remarkable Concorde was. Agree on the vaccine too. 4 hours ago, Walker570 said: Good coverage in the Telegraph this morning.
