aberisle
my daughter has one of the ooni ones they are fantastic its wood fired and it only takes about 90 seconds to cook a pizza, if she didnt live just round the corner i would get one myself
TIGHTCHOKE
A good Mate has an Ooni and it does cook a lovely pizza, though his Mrs does buy from Waitrose. Aldi or Lidl were doing a good copy for £129 against the £400 + for the Ooni.
bruno22rf
Think Lidl are doing pizza stones that sit on your BBQ for about a tenner.
markm
If you’re talking about ooni, then they are fantastic. Go for a gas fired one. The concept of wood fired doesn’t mean they taste any different and take longer to heat up and cool down.
rimfire4969
I love the idea of one, but not sure I can be bothered with pizza more than once a week. Are they versatile? could I cook anything else on them. I BBQ once or twice a week and can cook so many different things.
Fatcatsplat
Don't bother with the Aldi £50 sit on top of the barbecue ovens - More grief than they are worth and you have to spend absolutely ages preheating them to get them to temperature

bruno22rf
You can mimic smells by cleaning out something like a sardine tin, you can then buy wood chips for BBQ's that you soak in water then put a handful in the tin whilst cooking, you can also put a piece of BBQ coal lit on the stove and popped in the tin, hey-presto BBQ smelling food from your oven. Ian willetts
Mate of mine bought a concrete one with all the brass finishes quarry tiles weighing 1/2. Ton driver pulled it to his back gate he rang me to bring my son to lift it in his garden as his gate opening was to narrow to get it in one telehandler to short one brick wagon with extra long high hab later over the fence onto its resting place needless to say no one nicked it it was at his back gate for a week measure before you buy

My sister has an Ooni pizza oven, it is superb. I really wanted to hate it but the pizzas are too tasty and quick. Burning one piece of BBQ Coal in a tin doesn't seem to cause any problems, you can do the same tin trick if you cook in a Wok/Pan with a lid, 10 minutes before your meal is cooked just stand the tin in the middle of your food and put the lid on. Helps if you put a few drips of water on the burning coal just as you are about to use it.
