How?

Covid made a mess of any worthwhile plans for Brexit growth and employment, its the same across Europe, and I'm pretty sure the tories don't govern over there?

We already know what Labour would have done, they would have borrowed even more money, and thrown it round like confetti, whilst promising to tax the rich that hard, they all left the country.

Businesses, already struggling, also taxed to death, or to move abroad?

The end result would have been economic carnage.

The opposition talk a good game when it comes to slagging the tories off, but actual coherent policies? Nothing.

Because of all the old backsides that need wiping, taxes to pay all those state pensions, an NHS that keeps all those old people alive, bus passes, etc but basically to keep the merry-go-round spinning and not crashing down.

Brilliant let's build a pyramid scheme where we simply bring in more migrants every generation to pay for the one before it! I'm sure we won't run out of resources, what could possibly go wrong! 🙈🤣🤣🤣

Hello, I see on the news a couple had their wedding cancelled with a hotel to accommodate illegal immigrants ,🤔 I can see a short supply of hotel rooms for next summer holidays

You mean asylum seekers? If they were illegal they would be deported. Can't understand why they are in Hotel rooms. Oh yes i forgot this Tory Govt is running around without a head. How many PM's, how many foreign secretary's 🤣

We need the Tories out.

And when you come up with a viable alternative we will be all ears!

😂 I guess if you voted Donkey and were happy with  Liz and then wanted Sunak you probably don't care a jot about UK plc so long as it's blue. That's quite sad when hopes for a better future are limited to relying on the dregs of the blue party. Surely anyone and I mean anyone could hardly be worse. This party is simply abysmal.

So you feel we ought to have up to 1000 empty homes on daily standby for when they turn up in a dingy?

I couldn't agree more, which is why either reform or reclaim will get my vote at the next election.

Is that the only option? If the govt was not so tied up in leadership races, disciplinary action, repairing damaged market sentiments, preparing budgets then you could imagine that some alternative accommodation might have been prepared. How long did it take to build a nightingale hospital?

Yes - I guess we could build a new one every few days but their anti Brexit advisers will complain they aren't good enough either. Did you see a news item a few days ago about migrants complaining their 5 star hotel food wasn't to their liking? Anything to cost the UK tax payer more money in an attempt to smear Brexit will do.

No I missed that. Let me guess, Farage, The Mail or the Sun? I am sure some would be unhappy with teh quality of the toilet paper so what?

Are you suggesting asylum seekers have their own anti brexit advisers?

There is simply no reason why the Government could not provide sufficient accommodation for asylum seekers, full stop. Stop apologizing for this tired sad and well past it's sell by date Govt. Look at what they are doing (or not doing). Judge them on their lack of results. It's not your job or mine to deal with this stuff. They are in power to get it sorted and they are simply not doing it.

Brexit does not need any bad press it makes enough of it's own.

Talk about a warped view of reality. Why is it the UK's tax payers responsibility to pay for and house economic migrants?

What exactly has Brexit caused that is so catastrophic?

You may want to call them economic migrants and maybe some will turn out to be exactly that but the UK signed up for the refugee convention which makes it exactly the responsibility of the UK Govt. You might not like it i might not like it but that is what we agreed. If you don't like the law what would you do? Break it or seek to change it?

Brexit. Dont take my word for it. This is the OBR's view. I think most would agree that the economic hit of covid was bad. The economic hit of Brexit was twice that of covid.

What exactly has Brexit caused that is of any tangible benefit? Perhaps it's the £350m a week going to the NHS

What a load of rubbish, anyone landing on our beaches are not refugees, they've come from France a safe country, the overwhelming majority of all arrivals will be economic migrants, that's not a term I've plucked from thin air, its a fact that accurately describes the people arriving and we have no obligation to pay for them, it's just our government refuses to overturn the EU laws we signed up to that would allow us to deal with the problem. Which leads onto the next point, our government, steered by remoaners will not implement the necessary changes that would allow the UK to benefit from Brexit. What we need to do is elect a party that will, we're no worse off under Brexit and I certainly don't regret my vote and would vote the same way again, even if your claim of economic damage was correct (which I dispute) its made no detectable difference to me or anyone I know and we're now at least able (with the right government) to make our own laws and shape our own country without being told what to do by the EU.

The UNHCR treaty on refugees was signed in 1951 well before the treaty of Rome in 1957 forming the ECC). So nothing at all to do with EU laws. The subsequent status protocols which is a UN charter was agreed in 1967 so also nothing to do with EU laws.

If they were considered illegal on arrival the govt could and no doubt would lock them up. We cannot because of our agreement. You might not like it i might not like it but that is what we agreed. If you don't like the law what would you do? Break it or seek to change it?

It's so much easier to blame everyone else.
