samboy
Hi gang. A pal of mine has a Beretta 694 and just can't get the plastic residue out of the barrels. He has tried several sprays and brushes. Someone suggested the above but the local Rfd said don't use that stuff. Any thoughts chaps ?. Thanks all. snow white
Brush on a drill will shift it
Gordon R
Place a piece of cloth in the kitchen sink. Pour boiling water down the barrels - shifts anything. Obviously grip the barrels with gloves or similar and be careful.
London Best
Turks head brush or the modern ‘Tornado’ brush. Either will shift the fouling. edit: and don’t use any more plastic wad cartridges! Edited July 23, 2023 by London Best
oldypigeonpopper
Hello, as Gordon mentioned, get some corks or stoppers for muzzle and boiling water ,
snow white
Just run your copper brush up and down it on cleaning rods in a drill on fast speed that will shift it in no time and you want damage the barrels

reindeer
I have best results with a spray of WD40, left overnight and then a few strokes with a spiral brush. For final cleaning I push a few cotton cleaning pads through on top of the brush.
Westley
Bronze brush in a section of cleaning rod and electric drill. Spray of GT85, polish out, job done. My pals 694 suffers from the same problem, we both use the same brand of cartridges and I don't have any issues with my ProSport.
snow white
I would not use a Turks head I used one on a browning maxus a few years ago and it marked the inside I have not used one since. Just a copper brush it doesn’t take long

snow white
Well it damaged mine and not used in a drill not going to argue just telling it as it was.
sportsbob
Acetone dissolves most plastic not cellulose thinners.
bigroomboy
I wouldn't worry about it. Give it a decent clean, if there is a bit of stuff left don't worry about and keep shooting. It's self cleaning to an extent.
DUNKS
Use Ed's Red with Acetone. Will shift anything. No need for the Lanolin unless gun is used infrequently.
Mr.C
Philips gun barrel cleaner, spray can with the pink label. Same problem with my CG if I use plaswads and this stuff shifts it easier than anything else I've used.
