I understand what you’re saying, but most of the Tory government from 1997 are either retired or dead. All of the calls for increased gun control in the past 2 years have come from Labour.

The wording in this quote is interesting . There’s been a lot of talk since Plymouth as to how somebody living in a town should not own a gun, and the proposal for shooters to store guns at a gun club instead of home keeps rearing its ugly head. Until Labour denies this then will pursue this then I cannot support them.

Erm? MARS rifles and the .50 calibre? Mandatory GP input? And lead shot replacement such as iron shot being unsuitable for some guns the cost of the alternatives such as bismuth will be gun control by price. We've left the EU yet why hasn't the Government unquivocally ditched REACH proposals on lead shot. But, yes, I do note that Labour aren't exactly gun friendly either. Just that my purpose is so that others don't see the Tories through rose tinted glasses on gun issues. And most recently the consultation on firearms licence fees that concluded in August this year? My best advice is hope that whoever gets in at least those of us that vote have made effort to discover which candidate in our consitituncies is the least gun unfriendly!

Best get prepared for the incoming change as the Tories are so unpopular at the moment I can see nothing but a Labour government coming.

It’s not even that Labour are good or a credible alternative.

They’re going to win off the back of the Tories being so useless and everyone being so annoyed / fed up of them!

“Anything is better than this lot” is going to win the next election.

The Mid Beds and Tamworth by election results are not encouraging.

The Conservative minister interviewed about it claimed it’s not that bad and the results aren’t good enough to indicate Labour are going to win the next GE.

Talk about clueless!!!

44% Mid Beds and 42% Tamworth, turnouts I belief, but still.

only after they have paid for 13yrs of tories bankrupting the country!

Even with the highest ever levels of taxation, we will be unlikely to ever pay back the Tory debt levels let alone recover the economic cost of Brexit.

With the election results the country is calling out for change. Desperate to get away from the disaster we have in power. Whilst almost any change will be a bonus I wonder how long the red factions can be kept in check. It will take at least three terms for our new PM to make headway and as with the current lot after the first term in fighting becomes cancerous.

The UK isn’t bankrupt.
In the 1970’s the Labour government of the day took us about as close to bankruptcy as we’ve been, if I recall.

76 Mr Callaghan.

He also voted to remain in the EU (probably because it suited HIS lifestyle.)

🤣 I could see the impact and costs cost and could see no benefits. Unfortunately it came true. Only last week my bill was £270 for nothing.

Still I guess for some self flagellation is a passion.

Despite all the promises and false claims of how things would be better, you’re surely not suggesting that Brexit has been a good thing?

It’s been nothing short of a shambles.

All the promises of trade deals with the USA and common wealth … they wrote £300m+ for the NHS on the side of a bus … then said “That’s what we COULD do… now what we’re actually GOING to do!” …

A Labour Government is coming … not because the electorate think Labour are brilliant … but because the Tories have been such an absolute shambles they truly believe anyone could do a better job.

You’re voting for a party of which numerous members want either a total gun ban, or at least a ban on you keeping your guns at home. If either of these happen, they will never be reversed because gun control only moves in one direction.

This. Labour haven’t climbed above the Tories, the Tories have crash landed on top of Labour… and then fallen a bit further.

And when are they going to stop using that excuse as well?!

Done an awful job but keep shouting “It would be worse under someone else” just doesn’t cut it!
