Pushkin Posted February 2 Report Share Posted February 2 It comes to my mind that the only real way for immigrants to come truthfully into Britain is for them to apply in writing, then meet with a bona-fide person of our establishment ie Border patrol empolyee 1 month after their letter is received - and in their own country! From that meeting it can be clarified with their own government if they are under threat or duress that makes them want to come and live in Britain. If everything is checked out and situation remains the same, then after a waiting period of 5 (FIVE) years, they can come visit if all still ok - but only for 6 months. Decision on their legal immigration to be made 1 (one) year after that period. That should help us see who is really keen to come over here. Given the number of applications required to cover all these illegal immigrants we seem to want us to take them in - simple - we dont and tell them to follow the rules. Return them to their own country regardless of their situation. We could up our employment numbers by having to create a department that deals only with these applications and arrivals.
