so,Sir Kier has played the "Tories are smearing a working class woman" card (surprised he can tell what he/she/it is tbf) on top of the "none story" card trotted out by the rest of the left wing led by Anneliese Dodds even though the "ginger growler gate" victim is being investigated by the police for financial AND electoral registration AND council tax discount irregularities.

even her "ex" next door neighbour from the "council house gate" scandal has said she is a "lying *****r" and "hadn't lived there for ages"

let's see how her righteous/holier than thou attitude holds up in the commons when she'll be "obviously" calling for her own resignation 👍

A classic case of pot calling kettle black and kept quiet by much of the MSM -  If it was a Tory it would be on every front page and loud questions and demands for sacking in parliament.

The Tory who is linked above..  Investigations are just that, and both are under investigation in one form or other and both may well end up as Police investigations, guilt has to be proven before we burn at the stake.

It's not just about electoral rules over what comprises someone's "main" residence.

I've no problem with anyone making an honest profit but this is Starmer's attack dog apparently buying an ex council house in order to flip it for profit, then claiming it's her "main" residence in order to evade capital gains tax.

It reminds me of Tony Benn, the ex Lord Stansgate, who presented himself as an arch socialist and wanted us all to live in dull grey council houses. Okay, it's a belief system I suppose, except that after he died it turned out he'd arranged a raft of clever financial tricks in order that there would almost no death duty/inheritance tax to collect.

i.e. tax evasion.

I was lucky enough to have dinner with Tony Benn and he gave me a copy of his book 'Dare to be a Daniel', what a fascinating individual. He had met and knew almost every big name leader in the world and has some great stories to tell. He insisted on running a conversation recorder during dinner. Never had much time for him as a politician but the evening was quite something.

I can believe he could be entertaining and a convivial person at the dinner table, most aristocrats are.

Most aristocrats though aren't utter and total hypocrites.

oowee - Did Tony Benn bring his cracked tea cup to dinner? He took it everywhere with him, so he could appear to be a man of the people. Entertaining company he might have been, but a useless politician. 

I had lunch with William Hague, who was nothing like his public image. Quite funny and a lot sharper than i had thought him to be.

As for Rayner - I have no time for her. Loud and thick are the two qualities which spring to mind. It will be interesting to see what emerges from any possible Capital Gains Tax, single occupancy Council Tax reduction, Electoral fraud etc. Her former agent and a former neighbour have both said she lied. I suspect that time will show that she isn't quite as bright as she thinks she is. That said, I was personally told by one of her taxi drivers that she is a lot nicer than her public image.

I don't recall a tea cup but he was at least bordering on the eccentric. I have met Hague and worked with lots of politicians. There are a few that stand out 😁
