Swift arrest, put before a court the following day, off to prison for 3 years, no longer an MP. That would be what would happen under Starmer's regime, if he is treated the same as anyone else.

It is genuinely shocking that anyone, especially an MP, should be advocating cutting someone's throat.

Got your first request 👍

Absolutely outrageous. What a plonker. He has to face the full force of the law.

The process has started 👍

I think it's illegal hate speech to call someone a Nazi. (unless of course they actually do believe in the genetic superiority of the German people.)

The word trips off their lips far too easily every time they want to slag off anybody they disagree with.

It will be like the word ‘racist’ get used so often now doesnt quite have the same effect.Get accused as being racist for being patriotic now it seems.

Inciting violence is illegal in the UK, and even the US Supreme Court has placed limits on their first amendment with respect to direct incitement.

Nevertheless, I can’t help but feel uncomfortable about the idea of potentially jailing someone for an angry tweet, subsequently deleted.

Just me?

No, but you must apply equally to both sides and this was on a loud hailer at a meeting in his case, hers IIRC was a tweet

You must apply what equally to both sides?

A judge has sentencing guidelines and is (without wishing to prejudice any individual case) only looking at the facts of the particular case when considering a sentence following a guilty verdict/plea.

I'm suggesting a (potential) custodial sentence for a tweet is excessive, and not a good use of scarce prison places

And...it gets worse:

I'd suggest actual free countries are laughing at us.

Did you see the crowd around him clapping and cheering? Ah it’s the be kind brigade again.

It’s actually funny because ‘ol gobby picked the wrong week to stick his neck out when two tier kier is actively looking for an ‘example’ to show the world he’s not two tier kier. Whilst everyone is looking, chummy will get the book thrown at him - he should bring a wash bag with him to court 😆
