He then made a more troublesome claim: that the Chancellor had 'nearly got sacked due to an expenses scandal' before landing herself in a sticky spot with the HR department for taking lots of time off for 'doctors/dentists visits'. 'Turns out she was doing Labour council business,' he wrote. 'When shown the facts, she resigned.' " The 10 years she claims she worked for the Bank of England was also not correct. She actually joined the Bank on its graduate trainee scheme, rather than as an 'economist' and spent about five (rather than ten) full years working there, while also taking 12 months out to study for an MA in economics from the LSE, and spending a year on 'secondment' at the British Embassy in Washington. I believe you are correct regarding the 'complaints support manager, I have seen a screenshot of the relevant email myself.

Unfortunately as humans we struggle to control our consumption given the chance. How many of us can say I wont take that holiday, buy that car, get a bigger house etc if the money is available. We are programmed to want more and more it's in the dna. Ultimately we have to live within one world and must limit consumption accordingly. How we do that I have no idea. None of us vote for less. The most obvious way, I guess is we do nothing. We wait for the famine, the war or whatever it may be to moderate our excess. me ME ..ive lived in same house for 40 years no holiday since 2006,my car ive had for 12 years,

Had my Defender 29 years. Not 'holidayed' outside UK for 36 years. Not flown (other than as required for business before I retired) for 35 years. Installed one of the very first condensing boilers in the UK 38 years ago and ran for 31 years. One of the best environmental measures you can take is to make things last. JohnfromUK
And here comes the standard and expected rising unemployment under Labour https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14122445/Businesses-war-Labour-Half-CBI-members-looking-cut-jobs-monster-Budget-tax-raid-Rachel-Reeves-tell-conference-TODAY-no-alternative.html They will never learn that raising taxes and spending cuts jobs, stokes inflation and stifles growth. Gordon R Posted Monday at 18:34 Report Share Posted Monday at 18:34 Never thought Labour would sink so fast and as badly. I would be hard pressed to think of anything they have actually achieved. Aside from stopping Channel crossings, cutting hospital waiting lists, smashing immigration gangs and deporting thousands of criminals, other successes elude me. Agreed but it's more do do with paying for all that covid money, furlough etc. not to mention all the inflation (inducing) busting, public sector pay rises. Mungler Posted Monday at 19:23 Report Share Posted Monday at 19:23 The weird thing is, is that if everyone who reads a news paper or runs a business could predict (with accuracy) the predictable disaster that was inevitably going to follow the budget, then how could no one else see it in the cabinet? If they are that stupid and inept then we’re in serious trouble.
