oldypigeonpopper
Hello, Not that many out of the reported 24,000 from this year alone , Not including the number already here , Numbers around 1 Million??
Sussexboy
Hmmm….. I just read the article, forgive me for being underwhelmed and suspicious of how the numbers are being manipulated. A large percentage increase of not many is very few. However, it that increase continues to grow, come back and wake me up! I might be more impressed. I was initially dismissive of our new Labour MP. Not that she would have been concerned about it. Over the months since the election she is getting stuck in to local issues and I am thawing a little. If I see tangible results I may even thaw a bit more. She voted in favour of removing the heating allowance so that stigma remains. So I will wait and see how this deportation situation develops before any further disdain is expressed.
old man
Sorry to bubble burst, but? Just like shutting the stable door after the donkey has gone? Much more beneficial to stop the numbers coming in? I thought the influx would have been stopped by now? Again, it's no good blaming the incomers, just the enablers? Also no good blaming the previous mob as they have gone and that is what it is?
hawkfanz
if you read how many sent back its still 1000,s less than whats arrived in same period, just tryin to keep us all quiet.

oowee
Of course plenty more to do but this is getting into the backlog. The 1000 officers on the Rwanda project (🤣) have been tasked with repatriation. 13000 is a great start.
enfieldspares
Of course it benefitted the Tories to have these boat arrivals. As they could say "Your kids school has a large class size because of these boat arrivals" or "The waiting list at your hospital is so long because of these arrivals" or "Your GP can't give same day appointments because of these arrivals". All smoke and mirrors to remove the blame from the then Tory Government for its failings by making the gullible think it is someone else's fault...these arrivals...and not their fault. Billions spaffed on faulty PPE equipment to dodgy contracts with Tory cronies. I guess that was the fault of these arrivals? Money wasted on HS2 (rather than pulling the plug early) so the ink could be dry on the contracts with the infrastructure contracts with Tory owners of the big construction companies such that when HS2 would be cancelled they'd still have to be paid. Again all the fault of these arrivals. Hitler chose the Jews as his scapegoats. The Tories chose these people in boats. Yes they should not be here and yes they should be sent back. But anyone who thinks that they are the sole reason this country is in dire straits after fourteen years of the Tories is clearly easily led. I see the ridiculous Ann Widdecombe is prattling on again. My late mother, God rest her, married in 1941 and her husband killed in 1944 used to say this of the woman when she was on television supposedly sorting out problem families like the Philpotts. 'll share it here! "Ann Widdecombe? Lessons in life? Listen I was married at twenty-one and a War Widow at twenty-four. Anyone who takes lessons in life from a sixty something year old virgin is a fool". And anyone who thinks the ills of this country were and are caused by these illegal channel arrivals can water the same cap. Westward
It's easy to sneer at the Rwanda project but it slowed down the illegal migrant traffic. So, during the summer, the illegals sat waiting for the election and when the time warp student activists took power and immediately cancelled Rwanda, the idiots now running the country laid out the welcome mat thereby encouraging multi thousands to flood in. As and when the barmy army in Westminster start shipping them back at a confirmed 1,000 or so per week I'll applaud it, because then the illegals might be more inclined to dump themselves on an EU country rather than here. Gordon R
I assume the thread is a joke. Compared to the millions already here and tens of thousands arriving across the channel, it is a drop in the ocean. Deported today, back across the channel next week. He will end up counting the very same people. When Starmer says he has deported the first million, I will take him seriously.

You’d hope a post like this was a little thought provoking even for those who don’t agree with it, alas it appears not. I also believe immigrants are used as a diversion tactic, even if it’s all got a bit out of hand now and the government don’t know what to do about it. I’ll likely get accused of virtue signalling, or whatever, but I sat for a few minutes before replying to your post trying to imagine the trauma and hardship your mother went through, respect to her, you and the father whom I guess you never knew. She married again after WWII, to my father, so I was born in 1957 and my brother in 1955. But she said that unlike what you see in many films and movies no one came and knocked on the door. She got an initial communication saying that he husband was "missing" and then about twenty eight days after a further letter...I still have it...worded similar to "Dear Madam, No further news having been received you must now assume that your husband was killed and for any further purposes the date of death may be assumed as 30 March 1944". After that she said you just were left to get on with the rest of your life. There is no grave so he is remebered on the Brookwood Memorial to the Missing near Bisley. I remember though watching the World at War with her and saying that at least she could console herself in his loss that had the Nazis won that the aftermath would have been unconscionable. https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2148194/bert-spriggs/ https://www.cwgc.org/visit-us/find-cemeteries-memorials/cemetery-details/2012400/brookwood-1939-1945-memorial/ Edited December 15 by enfieldspares

Gordon R
oowee - I should not need to explain. We both know it is rubbish. Are you seriously saying that we turned our back on skilled workers from the EU and voted to import law breaking illegals, including rapists, gangsters, murderers. The figures for the prison population don't lie. Perhaps you could explain how we voted for that.

No. I am talking of the 2.5m with work permits (and families) from India, Pakistan and Nigeria that have come post Brexit. Europeans can still apply of course but why should they? 100milesaway
May I have the grace to ask folks on this thread to take a look on U Tube at a chap called Fast jet performances latest video about the migrant hotel farce. Before he is labels as a theorist, he used to train jet fighter pilots and the authorities are continually asking him to reconsider and rejoin..We need to realise that what is happening in government is no longer political and that we have a country to save. You mean the ones with permits to work whilst studying at college's based in takeaways and Uber offices. These were all happening years before Brexit.
