Thermal spotter

Morning all,

i have around £1300 to spend on a thermal spotter and have found the following options

HIKMICRO lynx 2.0 lh35 (£1249)

Infiray finder fh35r v2 (£1299, reduced from £2599)

pulsar helion xq50f (£1200)

The lynx is the only one I’ve had hands on experience of and does seem great value for money

the Infiray comes with Laser range finding and being a more expensive model I’m assuming will have better performance?

the pulsar was apparently top dog in its day but they’re not around 7-8yr old so do they still beat the newer competition?

all thoughts appreciated

Hello, Are you on the Stalking Forum ? What size Thermal Sensor you looking at ??

Stalking directory? Yeah I am

to be honest I don’t know that much about all the tech side but I understand the 640 sensor is best?

Look for one with replaceable battery pack/batteries.

That’s what was drawing me to the lynx, I think the Infiray is better value for money but the batteries are specific to Infiray from what I’ve read and are about £40 each

Definitely the Infiray FH35R V2. Absolute bargain.

The Infiray comes with 2 batteries.  You won't need more.

I have a Hikmicro FQ35L that was around the £1600 mark, maybe the 25mm version is in the bracket you want, I can say its is a brilliant piece of kit for the £1600, game changer on all the ground I shoot on.

I have one too. The Infiray FH35R v2 is better in every way, other than taking longer than the Hik FQ35L to switch on. The Infiray is noticeably better in damp conditions.

4th pic - group of roe around 200-250yds (I was struggling to get a good gauge of how far from the far fence they where)

Excellent point. My first thermal was a Guide. Battery failed, unit failed just outside of warranty. Back to the manufacturer for an expensive repair job. I try not to buy anything with built-in batteries now.
