Well its in Newham, what do you expect? In Newham, after dark, the police will stop you and search you to see if you are carrying a knife or a gun. If you haven't got one they will lend you one for the evening

When they came to put down rat poison at one of our properties the man said it wont kill any animal that can throw up. It only kills rats and mice because they cant throw up. I dont know how true that is I'm just repeating what I was told. He was from the Council so he should be legit.

Baikal info.....any experts on here please
Vince Green replied to Diver One's topic in Guns & Equipment
good gun, I have always like Baikals. I bet it handles and shoots better than you could ever have expected Looks 70s or 80s. The C refers to the place of manufacture I believe. Later 7 digit numbers the first two numbers are date. -
Bantams in my time. I thought it must be the best job in the world getting paid to ride round on a motorbike all day

There would be no shortage of HGV drivers if they paid proper wages and didn't employ them through dodgy agencies

Probably already covered by existing legislation, it doesn't have to be a real gun to fall foul of firearms legislation.

There lies the point, he cant plead guilty to anything in an interview, he can just admit that whatever it is said happened did take place. But without a court case to decide whether that constituted an assault or not in the eyes of the law it goes nowhere. I suspect that what ever happen probably wasn't a physical altercation or he would have been charged. Either that or the victims, for reasons of their own, wouldn't press charges. Maybe maybe maybe

We don't know anything about the "alleged" assault except he wasn't prosecuted. Assault can mean so many things, at different times and circumstances, including something incredibly minor. Not necessarily what we would think of as an assault, ie a punch No prosecution pulls the rug out from under any decision to take away his shotgun. It means the facts have not been tested in court So actually this could be down to inaction on the part of the CPS rather than the police by deciding not to prosecute? got to keep an open mind on this. He definitely should not have had a shotgun but i have always found FEOs default to no if they have any doubt, so is there more we don't know about?

Most if not all the garages round here in NW London appear to be closed

Double Rifles: Does anyone use them?
Vince Green replied to Shadowchaser's topic in Guns & Equipment
Its absolutely the reverse of what you suggest. When facing a dangerous animal you have two barrels, two cartridges already chambered, two actions and two triggers. Also with practice they are quicker to reload than working a bolt. Not much to go wrong that isn't backed up by having a complete second everything The last thing you want is a misfeed from the magazine with a big angry tiger charging at you -
all perfectly legal and above board, and no different to what many others have done in all probability
-
Or even worse, trying to con you into lease deals

This ^^^ Big thumbs up to Honda too People are put off going to main agents because they think they will be more expensive but we have found the exact opposite to be the case

Shocking, young, fit and healthy people don't want Covid jab.
Vince Green replied to RockySpears's topic in Off Topic
Its stupid to say that just because an individual has less risk of death (by virtue of age) they don't need to be vaccinated They carry exactly the same risk as anybody else of transmission to others. Also younger people in general, school kids and sportsmen are high churn (churn is the number other people you come into contact with in the course of an average day) and so have the highest number of potential chance of giving or receiving the virus They may not die but if they are vaccinated the chances of them passing it to others is reduced by 90%. Also if their peer group is all vaccinated the chances of them getting it in the first place is reduced by 90% Vaccination is nothing much to do with preventing death on a global scale, its all about preventing transmission. Thats the only way we can strangle the virus, and its the high churn individuals that are spreading it the most . -
There is the story of the man out looking for fuel found a petrol station open but the queue was horrendous. So he drove past the garage, dropped his wife off, gave her a hi viz vest and a big bit of cardboard. On the cardboard he wrote DEiSEL ONLY.in marker pen He then told her walk down the queue showing the board to each driver in turn while he drove round the block and joined the back of the now much shorter queue. When his wife got down to him she took off the hi viz and got back in the car.

While its been very tough for some people, others have had a really cushy time on furlough When it ends, thats when we will see what the job situation really looks like

Any EU national can get a work permit to come and work in the UK. All they have to do is apply BUT and its a big BUT they have to have a proper job offer in writing. There is the problem, the employers don't want to do that
-
What line of work is that?
-
On the news yesterday they said 70% of all petrol stations nationwide had fuel. Well that certainly wasn't true round here. I wasn't looking for fuel but every one I drove past, including two supermarkets were closed for fuel, coned off. I suspect some of them do have fuel but are holding on to it to drive prices up.

Just been out to Wickes to by some wood. Four garages plus Sainsburys and ASDA all closed for fuel

Road Haulage Assn are in the frame as the source of the scare story Ministers have pointed the finger specifically at Rod McKenzie, the managing director of policy at the RHA. The Mail on Sunday reported that McKenzie is accused of “selectively leaking remarks made by a BP executive at a private government meeting”.Ministers have pointed the finger specifically at Rod McKenzie, the managing director of policy at the RHA. The Mail on Sunday reported that McKenzie is accused of “selectively leaking remarks made by a BP executive at a private government meeting”. I would like to point out that Mr McKenzie is on record as being a staunch critic of Brexit which might explain his motivation
