If I had all the money in the world, I'd book large bag days on the best estates around the world and take my friends and family and have some good times.

Why the usual disappointment? If got no gifts but got to spend time with my family for lunch I'd still be over the moon.

Just got back in from a hard days beating for ten birds with 11 guns in some of the soggiest fields I've ever had to walk. Went through two sets of so called waterproof clothing today and soaked to the skin. The cocker and both my son and myself are knackered, I'm going for a hot shower before heading to the pub for food and a few pints with the Syndicate They should have done the three wood drives and called it a day after an early lunch. Hope others who were out had a good day.

Just had the syndicate day postponed due to bad weather and within minutes a invite to beat on a friends shoot. So will still get to work my dog get some fresh air and my son is joining me so a good day is looking promising with a few in the pub after with some great craic.

I would have a nice large gun room then spend some time collecting nice examples of guns from around the world. I'd would also have a pair of guns made from some very low volume gunmakers.

Just make sure the seals inside the airbrush are solvent resistant otherwise it's a one shot deal. I used one a few times for car paint touch ups and radiator enamel repairs. Do what they used to do years ago. Get some different cartridges and different size loads and pellets, shoot them see what patterns and at what distances then choose the cartridge to suit what your needs are. You might find a 32g 5shot patterns well to a good distance and a 28g 5shot opens more but is a good close range cart. Change your cart like folk would change chokes.

You could buy another gun with 70mm chambers for not a lot of money then save more money in future by not having to buy game carts for pigeons.

I've found WD40 or Castrol penoil the best for removing carbon from chokes. Leave to soak for a few mins and rub with green plastic pan scrubber.

Clean my guns after every use but I do leave the chokes in for a few months at a time. I coat both the inside of the barrel threads and plain part of the barrels and ghoutside of the chokes with grease, this makes a gas tight seal when done up with the choke key. Every couple of weeks I check them for turning smooth and then retighten. When I find them slightly grainy when undoing them a bit,out they come for cleaning. Depends how often and how many cartridges you shoot. If you only shoot 25 a week you could get away with checking them regular and cleaning them once or twice a year.

It's known as black eye Friday oop north for a very good reason. Folk who normally wouldn't go out on the lash do so and drink far more than normal, get lairy and start kicking off. Best avoided if you like a sociable drink.
