  1. Put the name up in big letters of any dealers doing this so we know who to avoid.
  2. I read that thread at the time and we all felt your pain, glad you now have better and a short Holliday thrown in.
  3. Looks very nice Nigel, you must be made up with it.
  4. Put some in dry rice and leave them in the rice to pull any moisture out of the carts, might take a couple of weeks it should work.
  5. Welshwarrior and I both like the same cartridges. I've been impressed with the Hull Clay and Game 23gram now renamed I think. Pure Gold were good to but think the Hull were a lot smoother, Bornaghi always get great reviews. Have a read online some good reviews.
  6. I'd dry them out and try one first before doing anything.
  7. Pick any game gun or clay gun and yes you can use it for all. But it won't be the best tool for the job.
  8. Between the ply and insulation. Use some visqueen and tape the joints and then ply over it and it should work fine.
  9. Use a bird guard that you see on pipes and flues. It should have enough mesh grill area to still work even with leaves.
  10. Better off looking at one of the 31/2" over and under if you don't want to go looking for your empties.
  11. WD40 dry ptfe spray in the action before every trip out. Another good lube is graphite powder as it won't gunk and the excess blows away. Don't oil the gas valve or tube it slides on as it will burn and carbon up, no oil and the residue is just a powder that cleans off easily. Never seen a semi auto instruction manual that says do not lubricate the slide rails, everyone I've read states they must be given a light coating of lube.
  12. Kicks full for me in a Betetta I had the kicks modified in a Winchester and loved it.
  13. Do the same problems not happen with our usuall manufactured cartridges? Can you not use more wad so when it squashes it leaves you the correct amount of space for shot and crimping.
  14. Wonder why not? It seemed a hit with shooters from across the globe.
  15. Bullaces like Sloes grow very close to the branch. Damsons and plums have a bit more stalk. Let us know how they turn out.
  16. I loved Glenlivet 18 year old until I tasted the Nadura cask from Glenlivet it has the best finish of any Whiskey I've had. I love the Islay Malts the more peat the better. Laphroig and Ardberg are my favourite for a weekend tipple. Cardhu Gold Reserve is ok too. Highland Park has been a family favourite for years.
  17. Looking forward to trying the Grouse Butts when there finished. Be good to have simulated game ground.
  18. George used to have most Gun shops in the North East stock his range of carts. The biggest complaints I heard when singing their praises were consistency as the carts kept changing. One batch would be what you wanted then the next were a different recipe and shot differently, one thing clay shooters don't like. The names of the carts kept changing. Lots of shooters loved them but supplies in dealers was sometimes hit and miss. I used to shoot both his clay carts The Little Devils and his Proper Sporting, on game his Proper Snipe in 32g 5.5 great hard hitting cartridge. Get the recipe right at speeds people want and get them in dealers at a good price, less than your competitors. Get the local grounds selling them and keep them supplied with stock. No good going up against the big boys and their top of the range carts unless your going to spend big on promoting it. If you can knock out a good cart at around £150.00 a thousand for plastic wad your £15.00 cheaper than Superfast and other club carts that sell in big volumes. If your too close to the trusted competition on price people will stick with what they know. Only time I see people try other carts is when they can't get there usual type or they were on offer and a good deal. Best of luck George hope it works out
  19. Wait till he shoots one for real and asks the dog to retrieve it. Nope you go and get it you shot the dammed thing I just flush them Lovely looking cocker and working well.
  20. You could fit a nice contrasting spacer to the gap make it look deliberate. Or take the handle off turn it round so it slopes down and refit without a gap. Won't make it cut any better but maybe more comfortable to hold.Nice knife, will you use it much? What steel did you use for the blade?
  21. You might want to add some covered foam filler peices to stop your gun stock for end and barrels from sliding around in the case when driving all the cases I've seen have them or buckled straps to hold them in place, Lovely job. Are you going to line the bottle compartments?
  22. A good fast clay cart, couldn't give a damm about antimony content as I've shot both low and high percentage carts and not one bit of difference could I see. So just offer a good fast cart in 9 for Skeet and close clays 7.5 and some 6.5 faster than fast bit more expensive super dooper FITASC carts. Or just make a do all 28g 6.5 shot game and clay cart.
  23. A nice light sxs would be my choice for game and a lightweight auto like the A400 light for everything else.
  24. I know exactly where you mean for the range near Elwick
